How to Determine Correct Replacement Landing Gear

Question:

I need to replace the front landing gear but I am not sure what to replace it with. I don’t have a replacement part number and am not sure how to get the travel for the legs. What info do I need and what is a good manufacturer for replacement landing gear?

To determine the correct replacement landing gear for your 5th wheel trailer, you will need to measure the mounting brackets on your trailer from the underside of the top bracket to the top of the lower bracket as shown in the diagram. From there you will be able to choose the amount of lift and weight capacity that will work for you.

For example, the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set # LG-3 has standard dimensions of 17-1/2" from bracket to bracket, 34-7/8" of lift and a 6,500 lb capacity.

A great option for a manufacturer will be either Lippert or Stromberg Carlson so those are the brands I recommend.
