E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I placed my order for hubs and bearing w Bay in customer service as I had a couple questions which she answered well. The package was shipped quickly. It arrived with one problem. I called Customer service and spoke with Kate who was very helpful and provided a solution and to replace a item. I was called later by Patrick the shipping lead who assured me the replacement was shipped and apologized for the error. Always excellent service at Etrailer. The only place i will shop for trailer parts.

by:

Ordered the hub and recipe it very quickly. They provided a video for reference on installation. It was very well made and easy to install. Very pleased with it, but the best part was the customer service. The old hub and bearings were so destroyed that I couldn’t get any numbers off of it. The lady from etrailer stayed on the phone and helped me research it until we found the right hub and bearings!!! In the end it was exactly what I needed and as happy as I am with the product, I’m more happy about the friendly and knowledgeable customer service they provided!!! Highly recommend the company and the products they sell!!!!

by:

I ordered on a Sunday to replace old 5x4.75 (uncommon size) hubs after discovering the new wheels and tires I ordered were 5x4.5 (common size) no I did not measure my old wheels. My old bearings were superseded by these bearings included in this kit. Assembly was a breeze. These were marked as shipped on SUNDAY! Thanks, you have my business.

by:

The team at etrailer helped me find the right parts for my trailer. They provided excellent customer service.

by:

Couldn't be more satisfied! I change from 5 on 5 to 5 on 4.5. I've been rolling on these hubs about 2500 miles. Every time I jack up the trailer I spin the tire, smooth as ever. Thankx LSD

1 year - 35k miles Im still very happy with the set of idler and brake hubs, bearings are still rolling smooth. I only use 1 type of grease Lucas RedNTacky2, about every 1k miles pull the rubber plug, 1/2 pump of grease not too much or youll blow the seal! Most common problem people have! Ill be buying another set for the trailer Im building. Keep making people happy, Thankx LSD

by:

I've had the hubs on for one year of use and they have performed perfectly. The price was good and delivery was timely. I'm very satisfied.

by:

The grease caps that came with the set does not fit the hub. It is bigger.

I am sorry that these were not the right size. Let me get you over to customer service. They will be asking for your original grease seal numbers, please have those available when they reach out.

by:

The hub assemblies I bought worked fine for my trailer, thank you Martha O. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get American made products but overall the Chinese parts fit fine. The packing left a little to be desired, one dust cap was dented and I had to do some filing on it before I could hammer it in to place. One roller bearing casing was also dented a small amount but the bearing was still smooth so I went ahead with it. The parts did travel from Missouri to California and the box was pretty beat up. Maybe etrailer could double bag the parts? The box did get here in just a few days so they shipping was good. I would buy these parts again if I ever needed to.

by:

Parts fit well and assembled easy, price was very fair. This is the 3rd time I've bought products from etrailer and have been pleased every time.
Thanks

Donald

Good

by:

The , order window for this product did not show the bearing sizes, and they shipped me the hub with wrong bearings, so I had to return it. Looking over the item description a 2nd time, It was difficult to locate the bearing sizes. That feature should be very visible for customers to find, so that they don't order the wrong size bearings.

by:

Thank you for your assistance with my purchase of new hubs for my boat trailer. They are exactly as described and they fit perfectly on my trailer. I am attaching a few photo's of the hubs installed. I would recommend your company to everyone who needs hubs........EXCELLENT SERVICE.

by:

I have always had good service with etrailer but this time it appeared my order was going to be two weeks out on delivery which would of hampered my vacation. I contacted Gwen at etrailer asking if she could look into the delayed shipment, she was very professional and extremely nice stating she would look into the product shipping early but there was no promises. I received my order two days later, hats off to Gwen for saving my vacation

by:

Great product, arrived a day earlier than expected with the free shipping option. Will buy again from etrailer when it’s time to do it again.

by:

Delivery was pretty fast and they didn't mess up my order.

Hey, I wanted to let you know that the hub assemblies do not come with the castle nuts and washers. We do have them available on the site. The D ring washer is part # 5-23, the cotter pin is part # 165649 and the castle nut is part # 165686.

by:

Received what I needed when I needed it. Very competitive price.

by:

Absolutely excellent service and parts

by:

Have not mounted on trailer yet, but test fitted. Exact fit part for 3500 lbs Road King boat trailer. All parts included as described on etrailer's website. One of the benefits from ordering with etrailer are the "how to" videos and their "ask an expert" forum.

Everything went together very easily

by:

Great service fast delivery.will use again for sure.

by:

Love all the products I have purchased from E traile BUT until E trailer starts shipping with fed X or a faster delivery company other than the United States Postal Service, which is very slow. It cost me a weekend of no boating and almost missed out on Fourth of July boating.

by: 03/08/2024

Great value

by:

Great price and service, could package a little better. Couple dings on the studs.

by:

Bought 2 of these as an emergency fix if needed. Product was as described and appears to be of good quality. Came with every piece pictured and was shipped quickly. Only time will tell and hopefully I won't have to use them.

by:

Would have given 5 stars but... product damaged due to inadequate packing the bubble wrap bag is not enough to protect the somewhat fragile grease covers from the weight of the two hubs. and one arrived too damaged for me to use. Also the product a bit more expensive than what can be found for an apparently similar product from other sites. But I went with etrailer because I have had great past experiences.

  • Are Easy Grease Style Trailer Spindles Actually Better
The spindle of your axle would need to have the grease fittings which can't simply be added on. You'd have to replace the entire spindle. Before you do that it's worth mentioning that we see more problems for people with those types of spindles than what you have now as they make it almost too easy to add grease to the hubs which then blows out the seal while on the highway. Packing grease by hand is the way to go and gives best results. I attached a video this page that details best way...
