Bearing Buddy Operation
Replace your existing grease cap with a Bearing Buddy to ensure a safe, easy way to monitor and control the level of grease in your axle hub. To adjust the amount of grease in the hub, use a grease gun to add more through the appropriate fitting. Adding grease moves the Bearing Buddy spring-loaded piston outward 1/8".
The O-ring inside the barrel of the Bearing Buddy maintains a seal from the outside. The interior of the Bearing Buddy is pressurized, preventing water from entering the barrel and diluting the grease.
An automatic pressure-relief feature is built into the Bearing Buddy. When the device is full, grease will seep around the edges of the piston and into the barrel. This prevents overfilling that can damage the inner seal.
You can manually check the grease level in your Bearing Buddy by pressing on the edge of the piston. If you can rock or move the piston, the hub is properly filled.

Just started our camping season. Pulled the caps off, hooked up the grease gun, pumped some grease and done. Took longer to write this then grease. No pulling the 4 tires to get to the bearings and getting my hands greasy.

Your product arrived on time and undamaged. It installed exactly as described in the literature. I am very pleased with my new Bearing Buddy's. As a side note I noticed a small amount of chrome machining debris inside the hub of the housings. It was easily cleaned out with a rag before installation. These Bearing Buddy's are installed on a 32 year old utility trailer I am refurbishing. Although the trailer is small (4 x 8) it has a 5000# axle and has seen some pretty tough use. Ive attached a pic of the trailer undergoing refurbishment along with a couple of pics of the installed Bearing Buddy's. Excellent product and service!

This product is as good as their rep have used them before on a
boat trailer never had a bearing go out as long as I used the
buddy bearings they are great! Service was just as good.
These bearings were installed on a heavy duty low boy trailer.
No pictures trailer is in South Texas about 300 miles from my location. Hauling oil field equipment. Picture of the trailer being

These buddies have the correct depth and the slip on contact area is not chrome so the buddies holds tight.

Great for, I didn’t realize I had the ez lube axles and didn’t need these. I really like the covers better than the cheaper ones. I removed the inner zero assembly so I can use these as caps. Much thicker material and better looking.

I recently upgraded to electric over hydraulic disk brakes from the hydraulic drum surge brakes that were on my boat trailer when I bought it. I scoured the web site and put together a list of parts for the conversion but still had a few questions. Lisa was most helpful and had some additional suggestions. She made my etrailer.com shopping experience the best online shopping experience ever. Once I had the brake parts I found my old Bearing Buddies didn't fit the new hubs so I ordered new Bearing Buddies and new coupler while I was at it. While we only just received out bearing buddies. They are as described and installed easily. The only trouble was the beauty covers don't fit over the hubs any longer. Doesn't really matter as the product is attractive. The wheel studs not so much but we can live with that.
I will have to write another review after we have taken a few trips and greased things up a bit.

Still working a year later however a side note. Do not over grease as it will leak onto the inside of the drum and prevent the brakes from grabbing.

I put 4 of these on my 26' fifth wheel. The installation was very easy and exactly as described. I tapped them gently with a hammer to get them started and then used a block of wood and hammer to seat them fully for a nice tight fit.

Putting off greasing wheel bearings is so easy to do. Bearing Buddies make greasing wheel bearings easy because they give incentive. Only takes 5 minutes vs a couple of hours. Being on the side of the road with a break down from bad bearings isn't fun and totally preventable.

Haven't put it on yet,but the service and the tome it took to get it was excellent. Went to the dealer to get a buddy bearing they were all you need the Vin number of your trailer and what kind of axle it has,went Google Drive it and 3 minutes later had it ordered 6 days later I had it.

I've been using Bearing Buddies on my boat trailers since the early 80's and never had a trailer bearing fail. These are still the best solution to protect any bearings that get submerged. Make sure they are pumped up before each submergence and everything will last forever.

I work as a fisheries biologist for a state agency and travel hundreds of miles every week with my boat. These bearing buddies and other bearing products have worked great and were a huge upgrade over other trailer hub products I've had in the past. So far no issues.

Product arrive on time and in good cond. Fit and finish great recommend that anyone ordering these make sure u use a digital caliper as fit is critical . I wasn't able to find these local not even Napa carried this size so I did a search and found etrailer.com and they gave all the sizes so finding a match was easy.. Great product and great service.. - Bearing Buddies for 2.430 to 2.444 Inch Hub Bore We do have the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB2441 or the Stainless Steel version # BB2441SS for corrosion resistance that are designed to fit hub bore diameters of 2.441 inches. This certainly falls within the range you provided but you might want to try and take one more measurement on your car hauler's hub bore just to be sure it matches. Bearing buddies are nice simple to use but the main thing is to make sure you’re using the correct grease for bearings not just Plain old grease which will work in the short term but not recommended for the long haul
