Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the Trailer Hub Grease Cap with Rubber Plug, 2.72"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this trailer hub grease cap with the rubber plug for the EZ Lube axles. Now, this grease cap will fit the EZ Lube and the Easy Grease trailer hubs that have a 2.72 inner diameter. The rubber plug you can see is included. Now, I did wanna describe this to you. Now, this grease cap is for EZ Lube and Easy Grease axles, which are axles that have a grease zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and you can see by that insert I popped up there, that's what the spindle looks like, and if you look close at the end, you can see that grease zerk fitting.

This will allow you to pump grease into the spindle for easy lubrication of your wheel bearings without having to remove the whole complete hub and drum assembly. And you can see it includes the rubber cover here that when this is installed on your hub, you just pop out this rubber cover, and that'll give you access to that zerk fitting you can see there. Once you pump in your grease and you're done, just go ahead and put your rubber cover right back in, pops right into place just like that. Now, this is a 22-Gauge zinc-coated steel construction. Now, to install this, it is a drive-in installation, so basically, when you put this on your hub, you can put a piece of wood on top of it and use a hammer to pound it into place, but also, we do sell a driver tool that'll actually fit over this, and then you can hit that driver tool and it'll actually install the cap into your hub without doing any damage to it, and that part we do sell separately on our website, it's part number 290-993, and it is listed on this product page as a related product.

Again, we mentioned the overall diameter on this or the hub size this will fit into, 2.72 inches, and it is for a quantity of one cap with the rubber plug. But that should do it for the review on the trailer hub grease cap with the rubber plug for EZ Lube axles..

  • What Size Grease Cap Is Needed For the Dexter Trailer Hub DX46XR
The Dexter Trailer Hub # DX46XR uses a 2.72" grease cap. We do sell a cap in this size. For that I recommend the Trailer Hub Grease Cap # TRU66FR. This cap is made for an easy-lube axle, so it includes the cap and the removable rubber plug.

  • Can a Bearing Buddy Bearing Protector Be Used On a 7,000LB Lippert Axle With EZ Lube Grease Zerk
With your 7,000LB Lippert axles already having a zerk fitting on the end they are designed to use the Grease Cap # TRU66FR to easily access the grease zerk. While the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors 1.98" # BB1980A are to small for your hub we do have the 2.717" # BB27SR for your hub size. This will generally require you to remove the grease zerk from the end of your spindle to use.

  • How to Determine Hub Assembly for Boat Trailer
We can help you determine the correct replacement hub assembly for your boat trailer. In order to find the correct replacement hubs for your trailer you need to know the weight rating of your axle, and also what bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly - which it looks like you have already done - and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. • Does HydraStar Disc Brake Kit Work With Lippert 7,000 lb Axle
Yes, your Lippert 7,000 lb axles are absolutely compatible with the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers # HSE7K-T1. This kit is going to give you the best possible braking set up for your trailer, with the responsiveness of an electric trailer brake system and the stopping power of hydraulic disc brakes. I also recommend adding the Trailer Hub Grease Cap #TRU66FR if you have an E-Z Lube type axle. Additionally, if you don't have one you'll need a brake bleeder,...

  • Grease Cap for Dexter 8-285 Trailer Hub
An 8-285 hub does not have the correct bearings or races to work with Bearing Buddies, so you would need to use a standard grease cap. For example, the # 8-285-11 hub and drum needs Trailer Hub Grease Cap # TRU66FR for a quantity of one or # RG04-120 for a quantity of two.
