Fit with little modification. My trailer is from 1985/1986 and has been in the family since new. After all of the years of use and abuse, the original axle finally had enough as it was bent from being overloaded a few too many times. Very happy with this kit as it came with everything needed and has handled everything I threw at it this past year.

@KateF Kate, we do an annual kayaking/ canoe trip to a small lake just Northeast of Yosemite national Park. We paddle in about 3 mi and then primitive camp for a week! Several years ago we converted an old Hobie Cat trailer into our 10 place kayak trailer. On a trip to Deadwood reservoir in Idaho, the trailer undercarriage failed when both leaf springs broke in half. We had the redneck engineer the heck out of the trailer to get it all the way back to California. That's when we decided to rebuild the undercarriage and use all the components that we got from e-trailer. Great prices, Great quality and that made the project really easy.

Looks to be a well made product but I was disappointed to see it was not US made.. I went with this axel because it is far superior to any I could find for small farm trailer use.. The hubs I got and measured are roughly 2-1/2 inches or 63mm and I could not find this in the specs.. My rims will fit but won't be hub-centric so they will be centered and ride on the lug nuts alone.. I am cutting a foot out of the center of the axle then splicing it together to narrow it for my application so no warranty for me.. This axle and pair of hubs with real bearing should last a very long time on the farm hauling dirt, mulch, stones, firewood..

Solution for Replacement Hub For 2k Axle With LM48548 Inner Bearing
The 1.375" measurement corresponds with the # LM48548. The closest thing to 1.255 I'm aware of is the # LM67048 which measures 1.250" for the inner diameter. One way or another, bearing combinations using the # LM48548 are obsolete so we do not have a hub that will fit. The best solution is to replace the axle with one that uses a modern bearing combination. To find a replacement axle you will need the hub face to hub face measurement. Yes, it can Darin but you'll need some extra parts. The Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs item # e62YR has a bend in it, like all axles, and if you just flip the axle over this will be pointed down causing alignment issues with your tires. You run the risk of wearing your tires out quicker just inverting the axle. Hey, Matt! We do have an axle that is 72" for the hub face but nothing that is 72.5". All of the axles that are 72" long have a spring center of 58". This is the approximate width of your trailer. It is measured from the center of the spring seat on one side of the axle to the center of the seat on the other. Can Trailer Axle Replacement be 1/4 inch Shorter in Length
Hey Richard, when picking out a replacement axle the most important dimension to match exactly is the spring seat center to spring seat center as that has to match up to the trailer's frame brackets. Going with a 1/4 inch shorter overall length axle like you asked about would not be an issue at all. We do not have a matching axle for your trailer at this time though so you would need to find a local trailer shop to you who can order in custom axles and get them the specs you need.

Hello Daniel, thanks for reaching out. Adding brake flanges is a potential option, but I am sorry to say we do not offer a brake flange for a 1.5" square axle. You would have to either find a supplier, or have a fab shop make one for you. I have an option that will work for you, but we don't sell any 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square axles. We do have the 2,000lb # e37YR which has a hub face measurement of 72" which will push your wheels out 1/2" on each side which isn't a big deal, and has the same 58" spring seat spacing so it'll fit your frame perfectly. Is There A 2,000lb Axle With A 72" Hub Face And 59" Spring Seat Measurement
The axles we carry with a 72" hub face measurement, like Dexter Axle # T20BTR-7258, only come with a 58" spring seat measurement. I recommend double checking your spring seat measurement to see if it really is 59" and not 58" when measuring from center to center. If it really is 59" then you can just have a local fabricator custom make you an axle or just have them cut the spring seats off of the axle and weld them back on with a 59" spacing.

I have a few different options for you, but the older short hubs that your trailers spindles use are not made any longer so I do not have a hub only option for you.
