When you’re hauling a full load, you need a hub and drum that can handle it. This Dexter trailer hub-and-drum assembly is rated for 5,200-lb axles and works with both electric and hydraulic brakes. The 12" diameter x 2" wide drum gives you dependable braking performance under weight, so you can tow with confidence every time.
Finding matching components for older or mixed-brand setups can be frustrating. This assembly uses the common 25580 inner bearing and LM67048 outer bearing, plus a 2-1/8" or 2-1/4" ID grease seal. That makes it a direct, predictable fit for many standard 5,200-lb spindles, whether you’re replacing a worn hub or swapping out an idler hub to add brakes.
Getting new hubs on should be the easy part of a brake job. With this Dexter design, the bearing races come pre-installed, so you can skip the press work and move straight to fitting your bearings and seals. Reviewers liked that they could bolt everything together quickly and get back on the road with no surprises.
Brake drums see a lot of heat and load cycling, but these genuine Dexter parts are built to take it. The drum’s 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and 1/2" wheel studs give you a solid, secure mounting surface compatible with 14-1/2", 15", 16", and 16-1/2" trailer wheels. Smooth machining and a clean finish help ensure consistent braking and long-term reliability, mile after mile.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Dexter trailer hub and drum assembly for 5,200 pound axles which has a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now the application for this is 5,200 pound Dexter axles with spindles that'll require a 2-1/8 inch or 2-1/4 inch inside diameter grease seal. This is designed to work with both electric and hydraulic brakes. The drum dimension on this is 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches in width. The diameter would be measured inside to inside. So there's your 12 inches.
And then the 2 inches would be width right there. So 12 inches by 2 inches.Again the bolt pattern on this, let me spin it around, is a 6 lug 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This does require a bearing seal and a grease cap which we do sell separately. The bearings, it uses an inner bearing of 25580, that's the inner bearing part number. The outer bearing part number would be LM67048, a grease seal that you can use on this, you can use a 10-1 which is a single lip seal or a 10-10 which is a double lip seal.
And then the grease cap you would use on this is a, if you have a standard axle, it'd be an RG04-060 and if you had an EZ lube axle it'd be a RG04-080. And again the weight capacity on the single hub and drum assembly is 2,600 pounds so when this is used with one on the other side it would fit on a 5,200 pound axle. But that should do for the review on the Dexter trailer hub and drum assembly for 5,200 pound axles with the 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern.

EVERYTHING JUST AS ORDER AND GREAT DELIVER TIME.
Product arrived in a reasonable time-frame, and met all of my expectations.
Fit perfect
This is a good deal because it comes with the races already pressed in!
shipper very fast and an exact fit
The right part fairly quickly ((UPS doesn’t deliver on weekends).
Right parts at the right price.Knowledgeable employees great help.
They painted the thread on the lugs. Had to find a die to clean them. Kind of a pain and not expected
Perfect fit easy install liked that the races where pre-installed.
These brake drums appear to be excellent quality parts, all genuine Dexter replacements. These are all Made in USA, replacing the ones on my trailer that are made in China. The reason for three stars is the drums were poorly packaged, causing light to moderate surface marking, and some paint removal. One of the drums also exhibited surface corrosion on the drum ID and armature surface, as well as the inner bearing recess. The drums were wrapped with a single sheet of brown paper, then shipped two per shipping carton, with no additional protection. The damage is not severe enough to warrant return of these heavy items, but I am disappointed in Etrailer's minimalistic packaging process.
just as advertised. Theresa was my sales rep, and was awesome!
Good fit, fast shipping.
The customer service was excellent. It was the correct part delivered fast and in perfect condition.
Great product, extremely easy to search and find product I needed. . Ordered and had my product within a couple days and my delivery was free. I will be buying all my trailer parts from these guys.
GREAT PARTS ,,ON TIME ,GREAT SHIPPING,AND GREAT PRICE
Top quality product combined with excellent communication and fast shipping.
Perfect match from my hub from my Airstream Bambi International. And it came with the races from the bearings already installed :-)
Great info to match up part numbers and fast shipping ordered on a Friday afternoon and received Tuesday morning
Packaging was extensively torn up, and someone attempted to tape it back together. The contents were not packed tightly inside the boxes.
The parts were as ordered, and shipping time was as quoted.

Over all I am only giving the rating a 4 star due to the poor packaging. Had the order been something more fragile I question as to whether it would have arrived safely.
Delivery was as promised. Quality of the Dexter hub/drum was excellent as expected. Great job eTrailer!
Bad: Read the fine print on etrailer before you purchase. I paid with a debit card. It took 2 months for my hubs to be shipped. I thought they charged my card at the time of purchase. They charged 2 months later. This would of been OK if it were a credit card. They almost made me bounce a check by charging my debit card 2 months later. Ok, heres my mistake, I ordered the wrong thing. I am willing to pay the $28 shipping back to you. They charged $28 shipping and a fee of $38. My bill was $224. I was refunded $158. I will not do business with them again. Wonder if they will delete this comment.
Good: They are very polite.
One of my trailer's four brake drums cracked which initiated a complete brake system inspection and repair. Having sourced supplies from e-trailer previously, I knew I could get everything I needed quickly and all would be superior quality. Surprisingly, it was more economical to do a complete brake assembly replacement on all four wheels rather than a selective piece/part upgrade on the 12 year old systems. An exact fit meant the whole job was done in a couple of hours.
fit as it should, thank you
Even though Airstream no longer sourced replacement brake parts for my 2003 Airstream trailer, eTrailer had exact replacement brakes, drum/hubs, bearings and seals. Installation of the new parts was easy and quick.

A year later they are still working great. I have around 6,000 miles on them, and have great brake stopping power.
