Product as described. Fast shipping and great communication during ordering and shipping.

This was not the first time I have purchased from "etrailer.com". The first time being several years ago. I purchase may products on line and honestly this company/source for the products they offer and the prices, processing, shipping and support they provide is very honestly as good as I have ever encountered. Their staff are completely helpful and "KNOW" the products they sell. I have my own RV and have hauled/delivered RV's Commercally for years, through out the lower 48, Canada and Alaska.

No, I don't write reviews very often and only after I have honest experiences with the sources that enable me to evaluate them, good or bad.

Great product - excellent service and followup from Etrailer- would (and have) done business with them again.

by:

It's too soon to rate the product for longevity, but the brake kits look like original manufactures equipment and the price was right.

by:

I was replacing the brakes on a 72 Airstream Argosy and needed a magnet but found out I could get whole new assemblies for $2.00 more! That's a deal! Just make sure if your backing plates have attached studs that you pick up the necessary grade 5 or 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers too.

No problems, all is well. Not much more to say really. Thanks for the follow up.

EXCELLENT...... START TO FINISH. Fantastic service, great prices, quality products. Here's a before and after picture. It only took 30 minutes and basic tools to make the replacement. So much better than trying to clean up the old rusty one. Thanks again, Bill Borland in Michigan

I bought a half dozen cheap versions of this before buying this Dexter brand and I will not do that again. These Dexter brakes have worked for 100k miles amd still going, while the cheap ones failed catastrophically in less than 50k miles.

I replaced the electric brakes on my dump trailer, and bought the Dexter 6000 lb set, fully assembled and ready to bolt on. They fit perfectly and are of the quality that I expected for American made products. I am very happy with my purchase.

by:

I bought a used toy boxa and quickly found out that the breaks were mowed down. I had trip planned to Yellowstone so, I needed these fast. They showed up on time and were the right part. I put them on drive from SoCal to Yellowstone which is 1500 miles. I re-adjust the break one morning in Yellowstone and haven’t looked back. Thank you Etrailer.com!!!! Here is a picture of my trailer in Idaho. We camped here one night before we got to Yellowstone.

This product functions very well, easy to install. I placed the order and two days later I received it, that is very timely.

Great service!

Fit like a glove.

I checked here locally on the cost of trailer brake shoes and magnets and found the price of etrailers' complete brakes and magnets assembled on a new backplate was by far less expensive. After removing the drum, this meant near zero labor, just five nuts to remove and replace the backplate then splice the wires. And another BIG plus, free shipping on an over thirty pound shipment. Wow so easy...And now I have all new brakes, magnets and all the other parts too, just seems to good to be true. I will continue to tell everyone about this labor saving and great priced product. Thank you etrailer.com.

  • Converting Trailer from Surge Brakes to Electric Brakes
First you will need to remove the old hydraulic equipment. Remove the surge coupler or actuator, remove all the lines, and finally remove the brake assemblies. If you have 10 inch diameter hub and drums, you may need to replace those as well. If you have 12 inch hub and drums, you can re-use them so long as they are in good shape. You will install your new electric brake assemblies, like part # 23-105 and part # 23-106. The magnets have 2 wire leads, one for ground, one for power. It does...

  • Replacement Brake Assemblies and Hubs for 1960 Airstream Trailer
It sounds like your assemblies are not the typical assemblies and will need to be replaced. For your brake assemblies, I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-7-SA along with mounting hardware # BRKH12. If you don't have the brake flange compatible, you can use the Brake Mounting Flange for 3" Round Axle # 4-44-1 which needs to be precisely welded in place. Then for your drum brake assemblies to match, I need some more information. I will need either the...

Turning the wheel so that the teeth on the wheel move upward will expand the brake shoes against the inside of the brake drums. Moving the teeth downward will contract the brake shoes. • Replacement Grease Seals for Part # 22333TC and Brakes for a 2002 Airstream Safari Trailer
The correct replacement grease seals for your # 22333TC seals is part # RG06-070. This includes two double lip seals and they have the same inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness as your current seals. To replace your brake assemblies on your 2002 Airstream trailer you can use the Dexter Electric Brake Assemblies, # 23-105 for left hand and # 23-106 for right hand.

  • Is it Normal to Hear Trailer Brakes Clicking
The clicking you are hearing is normal. That's actually your brake controller sending a split second of amperage on the brake output circuit to see if a trailer is connected. This is basically just the test the controller performs to know if a trailer is connected. This would be unrelated to your bearing issue.

  • Replacement for Dexter Electric Brake Kit 023-105-00
Hey Charlie, thanks for reaching out! For that exact brake assembly you'll need part # 23-105. The Kit # 23-105-106 you found has both the Left # 23-105 and the Right # 23-106 brake assemblies. Usually when you replace something on one side of the axle you want to do it on the other side as well just so everything is wearing down evenly, so I recommend going with the kit # 23-105-106 anyways.

  • Brake Assembly Recommendation for Trailer with Dexter 5,200 lb Trailer Axle
We definitely have Dexter brake assemblies to fit a Dexter 5,200 lb axle like you have. The part # AKEBRK-7-SA is a kit that includes a left and right hand assembly for a 5,200 lb axle like what you have. These are self-adjusting too which means that you'll never have to manually adjust them either.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes That Only Work With Manual Override
Dwyane, to me it sounds like the brake controller may be connected to a circuit that is not seeing voltage when the brakes are pressed. The red brake light wire for your brake controller should've been connected to a circuit that sees voltage when the brakes are pressed - so if it's not seeing any voltage there is no power supplied. It also wouldn't hurt to make sure the ground wires are connected properly and are not damaged.

  • Preventing Sway with Boat Trailer Info
Hey Dave, I would say that's worth trying but typically you just need the trailer to be as level as possible. Having it more nose down will get more tongue weight though so it could help at least a little bit. The most ideal solution would be to get more tongue weight on the trailer relative to the overall trailer weight. On a boat trailer that is tough as the only way to really do that is to move the axles further back but there could be a way to modify the winch mount of the trailer to...

  • Proper Orientation of Trailer Electric Brake Assemblies
On a trailer electric brake assembly like the Dexter 6,000 Pound # 23-105 you were looking at the magnet itself should be at the bottom. • Troubleshooting Trailer Hubs Where One is Hotter Than the Other
If you turn the wheels by hand do you notice one wheel dragging more than the other? If so that would indicate additional friction which would create more heat. I imagine you'll find this to be the case. If the brake adjustments are the same and are good the other thing to check would be that the castle nut isn't too tight on the hotter wheel. Also make sure the grease seal is intact on the hotter hub and that the grease didn't leak out.

  • Troubleshooting Why Trailer Brakes Lock Up While Driving
If you have electric brakes, there could be several reasons why they are locking up while you are driving. There could be a malfunction inside the brake controller, a problem with a ground, a short in the wiring, or a problem with the magnets. To test the brake controller, sever the blue wire a few inches from the back of the controller. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed to test the blue wire on the brake controller side. • How to Find Which Trailer Brake Assembly Goes on the Left or Right Side of a Trailer
The left side is the driver side, right side is passenger side. On a trailer brake assembly like # 23-105 the arm that the magnet is on points to the front of the trailer and the magnet always will be on the bottom. The reason your trailer is heavily leaning to one side is because of the way it's loaded.
