Features to know about

Ready When You Need It: Pre-Greased and Fully Assembled

Roadside bearing failure can stop a trip fast. This CE Smith hub comes packed with marine-grade grease and has the inner bearing (L68149), outer bearing (L44649), races, and double-lip grease seal already installed. There’s no greasing or assembly needed—just slide it onto your spindle, torque the 1/2"-diameter wheel studs, and you’re back on the road. Each hub is rated for 1,750 lbs and made to handle 3,500-lb axles.

Built to Resist Corrosion: Durable Iron with Zinc-Plated Hardware

Boat trailers see plenty of water, so rust protection matters. The strong cast-iron hub is painted black, while the lug nuts, cotter pin, and grease cap are zinc-plated to help limit corrosion. The double-lip grease seal (171255TB) keeps moisture out and grease in, so the bearings stay protected even after repeated dunkings.

Everything in One Case: Compact Spare or Replacement Kit

When a bearing fails miles from home, having a ready hub can save hours. This kit includes the pre-greased hub, bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, lug nuts, and cotter pin—all stored in a sturdy carrying case with a handle. It keeps every component clean, organized, and ready for quick use.

Fits Common Bearings and Bolt Patterns: Straightforward Compatibility

Matching replacement hubs doesn’t have to be tricky. This assembly uses the popular inner/outer bearing set (L68149 / L44649), fits standard 3,500-lb trailer spindles, and has a 5-on-4-1/2" bolt pattern compatible with wheels up to 15". With its 6-1/2" flange diameter and 1.98" hub bore, it’s an easy fit for most standard setups.

Ideal for Saltwater or Freshwater Use: Marine-Grade Protection Built In

From hauling gear through rain to launching at the dock, this hub is made for repeat exposure to wet conditions. The heavy-duty marine grease resists washout and corrosion far better than standard wheel lubricants. That means smoother towing and longer service life whether your trailer stays on the highway or spends weekends at the lake.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Very happy with my first shopping experience. They had hubs in stock that I couldn’t find anywhere else on the internet. Everyone else had them on back order. The items shipped pretty quickly. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was because I was initially given an expected ship and delivery date two days earlier than when the parts were actually delivered.

by:

Product was great! Everything included, easy installation. etrailer does a great job with specifications, reviews etc.

by:

I have ordered many items from etrailer over the last couple of years. Everything has been shipped on time, packaged well and exactly as advertised. I could not be happier with this company. I've read the reviews and must say that anything negative must be extremely rare. I've had nothing but a good experience each and every time. Thanks to Kat in customer service. Very attentive.

by:

Bought this to carry as a spare in case of breakdown on long trips. I really like that it has a grease fitting between the seal and inner bearing. Also like the case it comes in. Very satisfied with this purchase.

by:

Outstanding site with a very easy to use product finder. These hub assemblies come with the bearings prepacked and shipped in its own hard plastic case. Only site I was able to quickly and easily find the hubs I needed for my trailer. Ordered on Sunday and arrived on Tuesday. Will definitely use etrailer.com again for any of my trailer needs.

by:

Nice spare hub kit. I don't even have to pack the bearings. I hope I never need it but as compact as it is I will store it under my truck's rear seat and it may save me some grief someday. I love the plastic carry case. Even came with lug nuts.

by:

Although I love the convenience of the whole kit, the fact that the bearings were not packed disappointed me, they did have grease on them but that is not the same. Outers were easy but trashed the grease seals to take the inners out and pack them correctly.

by:

Very satisfied with my order, quick delivery, packaged well in shipping box, hub in its plastic box. The hub and bearings were greased, hub was easy to install. Extremely pleased with etrailer’s service.

by:

I would have given this product an Excellent rating but the plastic storage box was broken on delivery. The storage box was the reason I purchased the pre-packed hub set; I planned on using the hub as an extra emergency roadside hub if one of my hubs ever failed. The pre-packed hub is a great idea for people who put a lot of miles on the trailers and know the cost associated with a tire or hub failing while on the road and this hub is worth the money just for the peace of mind.

by:

I have a Lowe 1710 deep v fishing boat on a Karavan trailer. Very satisfied with the pregreased hubs as well as the knowledge and helpfulness of customer service. Delivery was prompt and I replaced both trailer hubs in slightly more then an hour. I will be a future customer.

by:

Perfect package for an emergency repair. Fortunately I have not had to use it since the hubs and bearings I bought from etrailer.com have worked flawlessly. Many local trips and one 1,500 mile trip with no problems at all.

by:

I'm glad I bought wheel hub and bearings thru these folk at etrailer. The hub assembly was sent right out, even with the Covid lock down. The product itself was ready to go// I'm a happy guy.

by:

Very quick turn around, great company

by:

New hub works great and fits the tapered spindle on our Calkins boat trailer perfectly. Very smooth wheel bearing rotation and easy to adjust. Arrived pre-packed with just the right amount of marine grease. Dust cap is a very tight fit and requires a pretty good tap to seat, so I'm confident that it'll keep the water out. Includes a zerk fitting to inject more grease if needed in the future.

by:

Easy to install no mess no hassle. Only negative would be the caps. I don’t care for the silver with no threads

by:

Easy to install. Exactly what I needed
My old hubs were not bad. Whoever had the boat before me kept them greased well. Just took off wheels then nuts and washer that holds hub on and slide new one on. They are heavily pre greased some will push out the front which is fine just be prepared. So far everything is great. Came with new koter pin and nice case. I put my old hubs in the cases and will have in case of emergency. Highly recommend

by:

The hubs seem like excellent replacements for my 30 year old trailer. It came with a nice hard case that I plan on using with my old hubs for an emergency kit. I docked 2 stars because both bearings weren't properly packed. Of course I damaged the grease seals during removal forcing me to order 2 new seals. Luckily grease seals are relatively cheap but still highly disappointed that the manufacturer over looked a vital part. I would still recommend this kit but be prepared to pack the bearings. I rarely write reviews but I hope this review helps someone in the future from making a costly and potentially dangerous mistake.

by:

So my 8 year old trailer had worn bearings and tires. I purchased wheels, tires and the CE Smith bearing kit from ETrailer.

My order arrived in 3-4 days and I received a follow up email. The wheel/tire combo is bolt on ready and OEM to my trailer. The bearing kit comes in a sealed plastic case and is a drop in part (pre greased). So in less than an hour I had a fresh trailer.

I drove my trailer to the beach (a 600+ mile round trip) loaded down. I had zero issues, so I am thrilled!

Only time will tell overall, but ETrailer is earning my trust. Cheers

by:

Ordered Monday delivered Thursday on the trailer Friday 150 miles round trip to the lake Saturday great product

by:

Excellent hubs!! Fit like a glove!!

by:

It’s delivered ready to go. Greased up and ready to install immediately. The carrying case keeps everything together. This is perfect for a road traveler who wants some spare parts for on the road repairs.

by:

The staff at etrailer.com is awesome, I received my C.E. Smith trailer hud kit and everything is perfect. With all the different trailer axle configurations they go out of there way to try and. Are sure you have exactly what up you need and when you have an issue and need to return an item they work with you, no question asked.

Thank you for all the support and fast delivery. I will definitely recommend and purchase all trailer needs from etrailer.com Again!

by:

Great product fast shipping

by:

For a spare wheel hub it looks great.

by:

Well the hub looks like a decent piece of equipment for the money, the the pre-greased part of the advertisement is false. The bearings themselves have not been packed they just shot a small amount of Greece into the hub, The bearings are dry. The seal has been installed and now must be removed and destroyed. If you order one of these order an extra seal and a tube of grease.
