Do You Have to Use the Grease Zerk from CE13511 Hub Assembly With Bearing Buddies Installed?

Question:
Will the CE13511 pregreased hub work for my shorelandr trailer? The size and bearings are the same. The only difference I can see is that the shore lander hubs do not have the inner grease zerk that comes with the CE13511. Does that make a difference? Do I need to use that grease zerk if bearing buddies are installed?

Hey Daniel,
The grease zerk that comes on the hub assembly # CE13511 is another option to fill the hub with grease. If you have bearing buddies # BB1980A-SS , then you can use either option to grease your hub. It will be easier with some bearing buddies though. The bearing buddies also make monitoring your grease levels easy, while keeping water from entering the hub.
What kind of boat do you have?

Dave I put these on a 1995 Shorelander boat trailer. The install was fast and worked perfectly.

I have these hubs and highly recommend,, I will be repacking my this spring, and with the inner zero I’ll squirt a few pumps to help film hub cavity then adjust castle nut and install bearing buddies , then finish pumping grease in till the blue color moves and your done, after a few trips check the BB and maybe add some grease till blue tabs move, good luck, very pleased wi these hubs, and carry old hubs in plastic case for spares on trips
