Can CE Smith Trailer Hub Replace Hub that Was on EZ Lube Axle
Published 11/23/2021 >
Question:
Your hub #CE13511 is a fit for my boat trailer and thinking of using it come replacement time. It has the same bearings, seals, etc as my current. Even is pre-greased with marine grease. Only difference is my axle has a grease zerk on the outside of the spindle. Can I use this CE13511 and simply use or re-use a outer seal/dust cap to allow access to the zerk instead of the outer seal that comes with it?

Expert Reply:
The CE Smith trailer hub assembly part # CE13511 will work for you and yes you could reuse the dust cap you have now that has the rubber plug for access to the zerk fitting. Or you could just cover up the zerk fitting with the included cover as well.
