Correct Hub for Dexter EZ Lube 3,500-lb Axle

Updated 01/06/2026 | Published 01/04/2026

Question:

Is this the correct hub for a Dexter ez-lube 3500 lb axle 5x8 utility trailer? The current hubs have H-545 on them, are 5 on 4 1/2, and I know they are the same bearings. The existing hubs are not galvanized. I included photos. Pretty sure this is it, but wanted to make sure it’s an exact match up. Thanks! Hey Dan, I'm happy to help!

For a 3500 lb axle and a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, you can use the CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly # CE13511 which is pre-greased with a carrying case if you don't need the galvanized option or the EZ Lube option.

The correct fit if you have the EZ Lube spindles with the built in grease zerk is The Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K. And if you'd prefer a galvanized option, check out the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K.

What are you hauling with your trailer?
