If your trailer’s factory brakes are dragging or worn out, these etrailer 10" x 2-1/4" electric drum assemblies rated for 3,500 lbs are a direct bolt-on fix. They include both left- and right-hand sides and fit standard 4-bolt flanges found on most hub-and-drum setups. The pads use the same friction material found on car drum brakes and are SAE-N certified for performance and environmental safety. Because the pads are fully bonded to the shoes, there are no rivet cutouts to interrupt contact with the drum—so you get more friction area and smoother braking. The tapered pad edges help prevent the grabby feel or lockup that can happen as the shoes wear down, keeping your stops stable and predictable.
Road grime and moisture can corrode standard brake parts fast. These assemblies use e-coated backing plates that fend off rust for longer service life. The included adjuster plugs keep dirt out of internal components, and the QAI, CSA, and SAE-N certifications verify quality you can count on mile after mile.
You don’t need special tools to keep these brakes in tune. The manual adjuster lets you set shoe tension through access holes in the backing plate using a flathead screwdriver or brake spoon. When properly adjusted, you’ll feel a light drag as you turn the wheel by hand—ideal for maximum braking efficiency. With only two wires per assembly and included mounting bolts (nuts and lock washers sold separately), installation is straightforward for any hands-on trailer owner.

Good price, but didn't include nuts which I found odd.
I replaced all four brake assemblies on my 2000 cargo trailer. I've never done this before but it only took four hours including removal of the old brake assemblies and installing all four new ones. Anyone capable of using their brain should be able to do this easily!

The brake assemblies look to be good quality. I ordered them to add brakes to an idler axle on a tandem axle trailer. The axle had a brake mounting flange, so install was simple. I also used the 10" 5 on 5 drum/hub assembly with pre-greased bearings. I did have one assembly arrive in a damaged condition, but etrailer quickly took care of shipping a replacement and providing a call tag to return the damaged item.
Perfect fit, easy install. Solder wires for best long-term performance.

Why would you not include the 4 nuts required for installation? Required a trip to the hardware store 30 minutes away.
These trailer brakes were easy to replace my worn out brakes on my RV
Product was exactly what I needed. Bolted right on, wired up and works perfect. My only gripe is the packing. The first assembly was just sitting in the bottom of the box with no protection between it and the box. Luckily it wasn’t damaged upon arrival. I would’ve put a piece of packing material in first then started packing the assembly. Just food for thought. Still a great company to deal with. Bought several things from them over the years and it’s always what I needed and worked great. Will continue to buy from them.
Received wrong parts. Currently waiting on new parts to arrive. No offer of expedited shipping or discount on order for mistake.
Now I have to go out of my way to print a return label and haul a 70lb box to a ups store. Really wanted this project completed by now as Now im waiting on the correct parts to continue my plans
The Electric Trailer Brake Kit worked as advertised. With two thousand miles on the trailer I have excellent braking control. I did readjust the brakes after a few hundred miles and this improved the smoothness and braking control while driving through Arkansas backcountry roads.

Exact fit for my trailer. The brakes I ordered came quick and work great!
Love em, I see why they are cheaper then Lippert, thinner pads and smaller magnetic disc. But for what I am doing they are perfect. Other then ordering the wrong brake drums, and having to return them and wait for the right ones, super happy. I will say they should be packaged better as they were barely in the boxes on arrival. Also, even though I have ordered before, the warning about bolt patterns and how to measure should be with each set.....not at the bottom of the page out of sight. New ones coming, and they split the return shipping with me even though it was my mistake. Thank you etrailer.

My new brake assemblies work better than the temperature ones! Very happy with the parts.
Price was great, shipping was fast. Only wish the brake backing plates came with new fine thread lock nuts. Charge a few bucks more and throw in new ones. I don't have new ones, and now need to go to the hardware store to pick some up.
The brakes are what I ordereed. This is my first travel trailer. I didn't realize they were manual adjust. They arrived exactly when they were scheduled to and bolted right on.
They were bounced around a bit in shipping and two of the four I ordered neeeded to be re-assembled a little. I'm familiar with drum brakes, so not a huge deal. A bit more care in packing could have been taken to prevent this though.

Glad to hear it bolted right on, Lonnie! Brake are a pretty important part of the trailer, so it's always nice when they work properly and are easy to replace when needed. ^___^ Any more trips planned for the year? It's definitely starting to get cold, which is the best time to go out into the wilderness in my opinion!
I installed new electric brakes from a trailer on my very old boat trailer that I had many years ago converted to a box trailer and worn out the old surge brake system so I upgraded with new wheels and new brakes. Trailer has now gone through 1012 states hauling tools we do volunteer work and it has performed perfectly.
Fast shipping well packaged, great quality, easy to install. It would have been nice if it included the nuts for the studs to mount them to the hub. I was just going to replace the brake shoes. This was a much better option to get the whole assembly, with all new everything.
