Quick Tip: There's really not a whole lot to getting new drum brakes. If you've confirmed that all of the specs listed above line up with what you need for your trailer, you can be pretty sure these will work for you.
These pads are SAE certified. As a result, this material provides high-performance braking, and is safe for use throughout the United States and Canada.
These pads are also tapered, which should help to prevent any broken, crumbly bits of material from rotating inside the drum as the pads wear over time. Brakes without these tapers are more likely to create a jarring braking experience that could cause the brakes to stutter and lock up.
Riveted brake pads will always give you a screeching reminder to replace your brake shoes. That's because the rivets will scrape against your drum as the friction material wears down. You won't have that noisy problem with bonded brake pads. You'll also get a little more friction pad contact because there aren't any cutouts for rivets. And more friction means more stopping power.
With typical electric brake assemblies, you need to manually adjust them every now and then to make sure you're getting the shortest stopping distances every time you tow.
With self-adjusting brakes, though, you'll always have peak stopping power - simple as that! As the brake pads wear over time, a tensioning cable will automatically keep the pads in alignment so they'll consistently make contact with your drum when you brake. You won't have to do tedious manual adjustments anymore.
Once you get these brakes installed, you'll need to break them in. First, find a long stretch of road or a big, empty parking lot. Once you're there, set your brake controller to its maximum setting and get moving. Speed up to about 40 mph and brake to slow to about 20 mph. Repeat this 15-30 times. The goal is to get the brake shoes and magnet properly seated into your drum. You'll know you've done that when it feels less jerky (and more consistent) each time you apply the brakes.
Note: The brakes will be very hot after doing this, so after every 10 stops you'll want to wait about 10 minutes to let the brakes cool off before continuing. If you don't, you might cook and crack the pad material.

They were packed loosely in a tire box with some brown paper thrown in.
The paint was scratched so they looked used. There was no visible labels for left and right brakes. I can't rate the brakes yet because I haven't installed the.
E trailer has a great website that made it really easy to find the brake parts I needed, I was a little worried about being able to find the right parts, but these guys made it a really easy, smooth process. Once I placed my order it got to me quickly and everything fit perfectly. My new go to for any trailer parts!
Super direct replacement for old worn out brakes!!
Order was incorrect. Not very happy.

I am sorry that the order was incorrect. We will have this taken care of right away.
Very easy to install once I got the old ones off.
God I love these kits. Hardest part is getting the old rusty worn out ones off. 4 bolts, two wires, repack the hubs and we are up and running
Fit great in trailer and easy to install
I ordered these brakes and they were delivered in a timely manner, giving me time to have my trailer ready to go by the first of the week. To my disappointment when I opened the box, I was shipped manual adjusting instead of the automatic adjusting that I ordered. Customer support was helpful and are to ship me correct brakes. Unfortunately I have had to cancel plans due to not having my trailer available. Very disappointing to me and my family.
Also packaging of brakes I received was very poor, units were "rattling around" unpadded and unsecure. Two of the units had brake shoes and adjusters knocked loose. Hopefully etrailer's shipping department can due better.
Thanks for a great product
A minor suggestion: The pressed-in studs (4 bolts) on a couple of the drums came loose during shipping. I realize that they will re-insert themselves back in during tightening but the fit may get damaged in the process (this may account for one buyer complaining that one of them couldn't be tighten or kept turning).
Suggest you add a blob of adhesive to the head of stud.
Only missing the 5th star because 1 of the parts sent was the wrong part and missing pieces. Problem was corrected very quickly with excellent customer service
So far everything looks good out of the box! Will give a later review when project is complete,

Erica was responsive and on top of everything. Called me to make sure we were ordering the right part as soon as I was questioning it. The assembly came in a little weird from shipping and she connected me right away to Angela who had an immediate fix which was spot on. Highly recommend this team and company and look forward to using them again moving forward.

Oh dear, I apologize that they arrived this way. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. As for the labels, they are typically located on the inner back wall of the brake assembly. The drivers side will be stickered as part BK-10E-01SA and the passenger side will be stickered as part BK-10E-02SA.
