  • How to Find a Replacement Spindle and Hub for a 5x10 SnowBear Utility Trailer with 2000 lb Axle
We do have spindles and hubs for 2,000 lb axles, but we first want to determine which spindle and hub will work best for you. To do this we will need additional information about your current spindles and hubs to ensure the new spindle and hub match what you currently have. Unfortunately SnowBear does not provide general spindle and hub information for their trailers. The best way to ensure you get the correct spindle and hub is by using the part numbers of your bearings and grease...

  • Trailer Hub That Fits BT8 Spindle for 2,000 lb Trailer Axles TRU59FR
There are a number of different trailer hubs that fit the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR, though none with a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. The reason is that this spindle requires hubs with inner and outer bearings L44643, which are 1.000" diameter, and those all have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern; here are the hubs that fit: - Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-1K - Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 8" to 12" Wheels # AKIHUB-545-2-1K - Trailer...

  • Recommended Replacement Spindles for up to 2,000 lb Axles
For your replacement spindles, you will want the BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR for a round axle or # TRU97FR for a square axle. This will give you the dimensions you referenced. You will want to have a professional shop do the welding to ensure they are safely attached and won't have any angle that could cause problems with your bearings, hubs, or wheels.

  • Axle Recommendation for a Converted Off-Road Trailer
If you are planning on purchasing a new trailer axle it will have a spindle already attached to it. Installing spindles is a very precise job that should only be done by a qualified fabricator with trailer fab experience. Since your planning on using the trailer for off-road purposes a better option might be the Timbren Axle-Less systems like the # ASR2KHDS03. This will give the trailer a 4 inch lift, is setup for wide off-road tires, will give better ground clearance than a standard...

  • How Far Apart Do the Races Need To Be On a BT8 Spindle
There is not really an exact required distance between the inner and outer race on a spindle as the trailer hub will dictate this distance and there can very well be some variances between different trailer hubs. However, I went out to our warehouse and pulled a trailer hub that is fit for the BT8 Spindle part # TRU59FR and measured the distance between the inner and outer races (inside to inside). I found this to be right at 2-1/16" so your trailer hub will need to be very close to this...

  • Which Trailer Hub and Bearings Fit Spindle # TRU59FR
For spindle # TRU59FR, you can use hub # AKIHUB-440-2-1K. This hub comes with the proper bearings # L44643 inner and outer. The Cap has an outer diameter of 1.986 outer diameter and Seal # 34823. The hub assembly is a 4 on 4 bolt pattern for 2,000 pound axles. You will want to make sure that the old bearings are stamped with L44643. If they have different numbers, let me know what they are and I can determine what the correct replacement hub is.

Anytime that a spindle is starting to take damage you will want to replace it as that will affect the performance of your bearings and seal. In this case since that chipping is right where the seal sits (as you mentioned) that will eat at the rubber seal which will likely cause it to fail. A failed seal will leak grease and cause further damage to your spindle/hub area. From the picture you sent in it looks like you have a round BT8 spindle. For replacements we have parts # TRU94FR,...
