Optronics STL78 Series Combination Trailer Tail Light 6 Inch Oval Sealed LED Light Surface Mount Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Surface-Mount Light

Surface mount light

Surface-mount lights install flat against the surface of the trailer, so a hole does not need to be cut into the trailer for the light. This type of light is installed using a flange or bracket that has mounting holes. And mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

I had a hitch carrier in the garage and wanted to add brake lights/turn signals. Since there were no mounting locations for lights, I needed a surface mount option. These fit the bill. They work great and were easy to wire with the harness I bought. 512370

I bought one of theses lights last year to replace one that had some of the LED's going out. Same manufacturer and same part number. The new light uses a different type of LED (square LED). The old style used an LED that looks more like a small bulb. I have 4 of these on the back of my 5th wheel trailer. The other three started going bad so I just replaced them as well. I have other LED lights inside the trailer that use the same type of LED as the new tail lights. I've had those lights for 6 years with no problems. . I suspect these new lights will last much longer with the new type of LED. 386594

Wired them in and they light up, blink, and do everything else they're supposed to do. Let me also mention that they are BRIGHT at night. Loading the boat onto the trailer at dusk/after dark they're almost blinding when the pickup driver steps on the brakes. Lol 336629

I replaced the old corroded incandescents with these on my coleman popup camper a week ago. Because theres no access from the inside of the camper to bolt them on i simply riveted them on instead. As these lights are sealed i don`t expect to see anymore high tide inside the lenses. They are brighter than the old bulbs but you have to be behind the camper to see them, not much light from the side if that matters. Will update if anything changes. 140554

Hi Steve.I have a 91 Coleman Columbia PU with the standard rectangular rear lights 8.5 x 4.75 that are recessed a bit into the camper shell. Is this similar to your PU? Do you think these would work for me?Thanks,Bill

I purchased a replacement light from ETrailer online. The ability to find what I needed was very easy and the displaced product pictures were clear and showed me an exact match. The pricing and check out process was smooth and confident. I had no reservations ordering from ETrailer. The Trailer light came quickly and I installed it an wallah !!! A perfect 123. I couldn't ask for a better online experience!!! Thanks ETrailer 345213

I'm fabricating a very small trailer and needed a tail light with a very low profile. This particular light fit the bill perfectly. Unlike other "flush mount" lights I've seen, this one has no external protruding parts. The back is flat and all I need to do is drill a hole for the wires and screw into place. Just what I needed. 397768

This sealed, 6 1/2 Oval LED was received in a timely manner and upon arrival, tested with all ten leds working as a taillight and as a turn signal. Exact replacement for a right rear side light on an RV that was t-boned, scarred and two light needing replacement. I am happy to report this one was for me but not as happy for the other driver. 550946

Good online documentation, including video, but no documentation provided with products. Wire functions are moulded into the housing. Mounting flange is not very thick but should be adequate if mounted on a flat area that is larger than the flange. The mounting surface should be drilled to pass the wires, perhaps not clear from the drawing. The three wire protrude in line from the exact center of the assembly, covering a total distance along the length of the assemble of just over 1/2 inch. 94231

So great to have a sealed LED assembly so I dont have to worry about water seeping in and blowing incandescent bulbs. They are very bright. I ordered extra ones to mount on a light bar that I mount on the boat for better visibility.

I bought these because I used similar style on another project with great success. These light work fine initially then the wires break off from vibration at the light so they have to be replaced vs repaired. The wires are size (O ToThin) probably 22 gauge or less. The worst part is I made custom brackets for this style so I need to reinvent the wheel to change them over 739177

  • Do Optrionics LED Trailer Light # STL78RB Come as a Set or Sold Individually?
The Optronics LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Turn, Tail - Submersible - 10 Diode - Oval - Red Lens # STL78RB is a single light. If you want a set, you will need to change the quantity box on the product page when ordering. I've attached a photo of the dimensions of the light as well as the mounting hole locations to assist. If you let me know the lights you bought I may be able to be a bit more specific, but if for example you purchased the Optronics LED Trailer Tail Light # STL78RB the red wire is the turn signal and brake light, the black wire is the tail light and the white wire is the ground wire. • Troubleshooting Trailer Lights and Trailer Connector Installed on 2004 Toyota Sienna
Typically, a load resistor like # P230004A isn't used unless the tow vehicle has a bulb out sensor. Because LED trailer lamps draw but a fraction of power used by incandescent bulbs, the bulb out sensor thinks there's a bulb burned out in the system and makes the turn signals hyperflash. I don't think this is the situation in your case. You'll need to do some basic troubleshooting, beginning with the trailer connector on your vehicle. Unplug the trailer, and use a circuit tester like...
