Optronics STL78 Series Combination Trailer Tail Light 6 Inch Oval Sealed LED Light Surface Mount Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Surface-Mount Light

Surface mount light

Surface-mount lights install flat against the surface of the trailer, so a hole does not need to be cut into the trailer for the light. This type of light is installed using a flange or bracket that has mounting holes. And mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Wired them in and they light up, blink, and do everything else they're supposed to do. Let me also mention that they are BRIGHT at night. Loading the boat onto the trailer at dusk/after dark they're almost blinding when the pickup driver steps on the brakes. Lol 336629

I bought one of theses lights last year to replace one that had some of the LED's going out. Same manufacturer and same part number. The new light uses a different type of LED (square LED). The old style used an LED that looks more like a small bulb. I have 4 of these on the back of my 5th wheel trailer. The other three started going bad so I just replaced them as well. I have other LED lights inside the trailer that use the same type of LED as the new tail lights. I've had those lights for 6 years with no problems. . I suspect these new lights will last much longer with the new type of LED. 386594

Good online documentation, including video, but no documentation provided with products. Wire functions are moulded into the housing. Mounting flange is not very thick but should be adequate if mounted on a flat area that is larger than the flange. The mounting surface should be drilled to pass the wires, perhaps not clear from the drawing. The three wire protrude in line from the exact center of the assembly, covering a total distance along the length of the assemble of just over 1/2 inch. 94231

So great to have a sealed LED assembly so I dont have to worry about water seeping in and blowing incandescent bulbs. They are very bright. I ordered extra ones to mount on a light bar that I mount on the boat for better visibility.

I purchased a replacement light from ETrailer online. The ability to find what I needed was very easy and the displaced product pictures were clear and showed me an exact match. The pricing and check out process was smooth and confident. I had no reservations ordering from ETrailer. The Trailer light came quickly and I installed it an wallah !!! A perfect 123. I couldn't ask for a better online experience!!! Thanks ETrailer 345213

E trailer provides small home town store customer service in a on line shopping experiance. What sold me was their customer service and the fact I can call with questions and make my order over the phone. We can not say enough positive things about the reps who helped me. I called and added to my order one day later and they made it all happen. The lights are a super product. Nice profile, easy to install, submersible, great price, great selection of different features and styles, will work on any surface as I always run a separate ground WIRE. one can add a chrome trim ring as well. I shopped around to different marine stores , marine catalogs and local stores, none had the selection. 295210

I'm fabricating a very small trailer and needed a tail light with a very low profile. This particular light fit the bill perfectly. Unlike other "flush mount" lights I've seen, this one has no external protruding parts. The back is flat and all I need to do is drill a hole for the wires and screw into place. Just what I needed. 397768

I had a hitch carrier in the garage and wanted to add brake lights/turn signals. Since there were no mounting locations for lights, I needed a surface mount option. These fit the bill. They work great and were easy to wire with the harness I bought. 512370

I replaced the old corroded incandescents with these on my coleman popup camper a week ago. Because theres no access from the inside of the camper to bolt them on i simply riveted them on instead. As these lights are sealed i don`t expect to see anymore high tide inside the lenses. They are brighter than the old bulbs but you have to be behind the camper to see them, not much light from the side if that matters. Will update if anything changes. 140554

Worked great as a replacement for OEM that was no longer available for RV. I also replaced the back side marker lights so the front and back matched. Pat C did a great job in completing my order with substitution for out of stock resistor. 459479

This sealed, 6 1/2 Oval LED was received in a timely manner and upon arrival, tested with all ten leds working as a taillight and as a turn signal. Exact replacement for a right rear side light on an RV that was t-boned, scarred and two light needing replacement. I am happy to report this one was for me but not as happy for the other driver. 550946

Great light for my purpose! I mounted them on a 1x4 to use as a light board hung from the end of my bike rack. (Also serves as back-up lighting for small utility trailer.) I mounted these on my tailer, up on the sides. They are easy to mount, and really show much better than my standard bulb lights. This was a simple, low cost improvement to the safety issue of trailer lights. A great value for the money and time spent. 663919

Good product. Horizontal bolt hole spacing is the same as a license plate so it conveniently mounts anywhere a license plate would. The LEDs are bright enough as auxiliary running/turn/brake lights and the wiring is simple. The mounting flange is not very strong plastic so you have to be careful not to crank down on the mounting bolts. There is no hardware included and no gasket for the backside, which is a bummer. Otherwise, a very nice product. 659065

Because LED trailer lamps draw but a fraction of power used by incandescent bulbs, the bulb out sensor thinks there's a bulb burned out in the system and makes the turn signals hyperflash. • Availability of Multifunction LED Trailer Taillights for Use on a Motorcycle
  • The MCL19RB and MCL19CRB are clearance light so they have only one function. For more than one function, stop, turn, brake, you will need to look at taillights. I have included a link to the oval, LED taillights below. One that is very similar to the lights you referenced is the Sealed, 6-1/2 inch Oval LED Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, Flange Mount, 10 Super Diode, # STL78RB.

  • Left Blinker Not Functioning on Trailer Wiring
  • First thing you should do at this point is test the 4-way of the wiring harness with a circuit tester part # PTW2993 for voltage on all of the right pins when the taillight signals are being applied. Just like in the video I attached. If the voltage checks out there but the trailer lights still don't function right then the problem is on the trailer wiring. That would mean that problem is either due to a ground issue or a short issue. Make sure that the trailer side connector are...

  • Left Trailer Brake Light Does Not Work But All Other Lights Do
  • It is strange any time a turn signal works but the brake light on the same side doesn't. this is because the brake and turn signal lights are on the same wire/bulb. The usual culprit is a bad ground. Ground problems normally show up when there is more draw on a system such as when you have the running lights on and then use another function like a turn signal or brake light. Make sure that the vehicle side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out....

  • Trailer Tail Light Turn Signal Does Not Work but Brake Light Does
  • The turn signal and brake lights are on the same circuit. If one is not working then it is likely because there is a bad or weak ground connection that will need to be addressed. Make sure that the vehicle and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. Next make sure the main trailer connector ground and the grounds for all of the lights are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If the trailer has an aluminum frame, tilt bed, or folding...

  • Right Turn Signal Does Not Work When Tailights Are Active
  • I suspect you have a ground problem as that is the main cause of most lightning problems but there could also be a blown fuse or shorted out wire so you will need to work your way through the steps below. I would first check the trailer towing fuses on the vehicle to make sure none are blown. Once this is done I would then move onto checking the grounds. When I say check grounds, I do not mean merely looking at them but rather remove the bolt/screw, sanding down the surface and then...
