Optronics Clearnance Light Dimensions

P2-Rated or P3-Rated Lights

Diagram of light spread for P2 rated light

A P2-rated or P3-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

I have bought many products gor our camper from etrailer from hitchesyo lihht bulbs. Always great service at reasonable prices, usually 30 to 50% lower than local RV dealers.

The lights are great. The only problem Ive had is there is no built-in backup warning to keep me from backing the trailer into things and breaking the lens. LOL

These lights are really good for the price! (I ordered 16) They aren't cheap feeling or flimsy. They feel sturdy, durable and they look quality. The wires are the correct gauge and the light bulb is in a rubber grommet for weather sealing. The light is sealed very well and it takes some effort to remove the lens cover. The lens is thick and the color is true. The reflector is bright. I was genuinely impressed with lights especially for the cost. These will be replacing older side marker and clearance lights on my older 1985 Sunstream motor home. My lights are faded, some broken, mostly leaking and more costly to replace than what they are worth. These MC32RB and the Amber version lights will look great! Slightly different style, same size and better looking and better quality than the originals. Very happy with lights and etrailer. Will be ordering more items. Thanks. G.

Exactly what I needed. Takes a hot minute to receive, but fixed my problem of missing/damaged marker lights.

I was expecting a one-wire light, instead it had two so I had to improise grouning the second wire. Otherwise good replacement for old light.

I purchased red and amber lights to replace the faded and broken ones on my travel trailer. Camping World wasn't able to help me. Found you all while searching the internet. Great produce. Great price. Better than the originals. The screws that secure the lights to the trailer are protected from the weather (they are under the removable lens. Easy to install. Ended up replacing all eleven lights.

- MC32AB
by:

The clearance lights seem to be very comparable to the OEM lights on our trailer. We haven't installed them yet so can not speak to their performance. I think the main reason for rating as average comes from their lack of any packaging. I don't like to send unnecessary packaging to the landfill, but it would be appropriate to wrap each light in perhaps a piece of newspaper quickly before shipping as a lot of 11 lights. Shipped loose in a box meant they arrived with some imperfections on the lenses.

  • Replacement for Reflect-O-Lite 400
The Reflect-O-Lite line has been discontinued for quite some time so replacements are no longer available. However, the Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light w/ Reflex Reflector part # MC32AB is a very similar option that will work well in its place. In regards to installation, all you will need to do is mount the base with a screws part # 1131832 and then match up the wires with butt connectors part # DW05744-5.

  • Replacement Lens for 2" x 3" Clearance Light
The SAE number is not a part number so it is not a way you can identify a light, but since you mentioned it was 2" wide x 3" high there are a couple potential replacement lenses that could work. You will want to measure the screw holes of your current lens from center to center and if they are 2-5/16" the Replacement Side Marker Lens for Optronics ST8/9 Series Universal Mount Combination Tail Lights # A9RB can work; if they are 2-3/8" the Replacement Red Lens for MC35RB Trailer Lights...

  • Replacement Trailer Clearance Light with part # AEP2 58-59 Stamped on It
Based on the number you listed and the fact that you referenced the Rectangular Trailer Clearance, Side Marker Light with Reflector # MC32AB it sounds like you have a 59 series clearance light on your trailer that you are trying to replace. If the light on your trailer looks like the # MC32AB and is 4 inches long by 2 inches wide the # MC32AB would work great as a replacement. I attached a review video for this light for you to check out also.

  • Locating Replacement Amber Lens for Clearance Light on 2007 Forest River Cherokee
Looking at the picture you attached I don't believe we have an exact match that will work as a replacement lens. If you are able to find a part number for the light assembly, which would be located inside the housing (not on the lens itself),I will be happy to verify this or see if we do have something that will work. Otherwise your best option is going to be to replace the light assembly altogether with a similarly sized unit. For this I recommend taking a look at the Optronics # MC32AB....

  • Red and Amber Trailer Clearance Lights with Clear Lenses
You are correct, clear lenses are not made for lights # MC32AB or # MC32RB. The bulbs for both of these lights produce white light so if clear lenses were on them the light would just be white. Unless you found colored bulbs that would fit. We do have red and amber marker/clearance lights with clear lenses though. For example we have # MCL63CAB which is an amber LED light with a clear lens. Other amber options include # MCL13CA2B, # MCL51CAK, # MCL65CAB, # AL91CAB, # MCL17CAB, # 00212336P,...

The proper mounting location for side marker lights such as # MC32AB are as follows: For rear side marker lights you must have one on each side of your trailer and as far toward the rear of trailer as possible. They will need to be 15 inches or more above the ground. For front side marker lights you must have one on each side of your trailer and as far toward the front of trailer as possible. Since there are so many different lights that are used on trailers it is nearly impossible to track down what lights are used on a specific model. The number you listed isn't exactly a part number so it's hard to cross reference it but we've seen customers in the past ask about it and it ended up being a light like the part # MC32AB. Which then for a replacement lens you'd want the part # A32AB. If what you have looks like this light then this is the correct lens. • What Size Hole Needs to be Drilled to Mount Optronics Trailer Clearance Light # MC32AB
I went out to the warehouse to take a measurement of the Optronics trailer light # MC32AB. On the back where the wiring is the grommet width is 0.65 inches so that is the size hole you will need. • Does Wiring Polarity Matter for Installing Optronics Clearance or Side Marker Light MC32AB
Yes, the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light # MC32AB can be wired with either of its two black wires used for ground or for power. Since this is a single-function/single-bulb light it does not matter which is which. For a replacement incandescent bulb for this light you can use part # A194B which is a 194-type standard bulb.

  • How to Install an Amber Turn and Parking Light on a Trailer with Combined Brake and Turn Signals
Many people inquire about wiring a trailer in the way you describe, and it is possible, but you will need to use a vehicle to vehicle taillight converter, part # 118158, to accomplish this.
