Parts Needed to Add Brakes to Ranger Boat Trailer

Question:
I have a Ranger boat that need trailer brakes. The prevous owner replace the axels and then did not put the surge brakes back on... I am thinking I would like to go electric. I need everything front to back. I am looking for suggestions on what I all need and recomendations on what I should get. Its a tandem axel traler from Ranger for a 19 foot boat. If you need more info just let me know and I will get you everything you need

Hey Eli! The first thing you want to do is make sure you have brake flanges on those axles. You also need to take a look at the axle tags and find the axle capacity. More than likely they're 3,500 lb axles so I'll answer based on that. If you have a different capacity you can let me know in the comments. You will need the following:
-Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K
-etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA
-etrailer Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box # e99011
-10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1
The junction box kit will give you a 7-way and you can run your existing wiring through the box for your lights. The 10 gauge wire is to run back to the brakes from the junction box. The only thing that will change with a different axle capacity/spindle is the brake assemblies and hub/drum assemblies.
You will also need a brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED52VR if you don't already have one. I'm assuming it already has a standard coupler, or the old surge brake coupler is locked out since you said it doesn't have brakes on it now. You can use the same coupler either way.

Hey thanks for the response. I have a truck with a built in controller already. The axles yes a re 3550lb and are Dexter Part#4766675 If that changes anything. They do have brake flanges. Its a 1999 Ranger 692VS.
