Optronics STL72RB Oval Sealed LED Tail Light Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Recessed-Mount Light

Recessed mount light

Recessed-mount trailer lights install underneath a grommet (A70GB - sold separately). These lights will extend into the mounting surface and require that a hole be cut into your trailer.

I purchased $XX worth of led lights 6 marker lights and 2 ovals. The marker light had a protective wrapper and showed up pristine condition, however both ovals were thrown in the box with no protective wrapper the clear oval has a scratch but is still in good condition the red oval has scratches all over it to the point it looks used. Pretty Sad. Wish I could off included photos but it was hard to see the scratches In the picture my camera isn't the greatest.

I am sorry that they arrived in this condition. Let me get you over to our customer service department for them to get some replacements sent out to you.

I had to replace one burned tail light on my 2005 cargo trailer. I bought two and replace the other one as well. They work perfectly. The size and the 3 pins connction are the same as the original. A little downside is regarding the packaging. I would expect each light wrapped individualy to avoid the rattling in the box. See pics.

I have a Haulmark utility trailer. One tail light was giving me trouble and I tried fixing it but decided to just replace it with these. They are brighter and fit right in to the old grommet. They were a bit loose so I wrapped some e-tape around them and they are staying in place just fine. I also ordered the pigtails and soldered and heat-shrinked the connections - the factory connecting were "scotch-locks", which I hate. After I did this, I looked closely at the old lights and realized that there was a 3 prong plug which I might have been able to use rather than doing new connections and soldering them, but by doing what I did, I now have tight connections and I can easily replace the light if I ever have to (I got rid of the scotch locks). Yes, I could maybe have soldered the old connections and used the old plug, but it was constructed in such a way that I didn't realize it was there (I thought it was part of the light body). My picture shows the old light and the old plug disconnected from it and the new LED in place on my trailer. It works great - glad I did this. It's much brighter than the old light.

Etrailer is the only place I go for my trailer needs. Simply the in all aspects.

Great website easy to navigate, excellent products with detailed specifications/information. Just what you need when buying online. I recommend etrailer to anyone looking for trailer parts.

The trailer light became faulty after 4 months of use.

Fit was perfect, shipping was fast, brighter and better than the original piece that was replaced. Would recommend to all.

Upgraded tail lights on my boat trailer from OEM with Optronics LED lights. Exactly as described. Shipped quickly. I am very happy with the product and service

Packaging could be improved as there were scratches on the plastic tail light lenses.

@Terry Glad to hear that!

Needed these lights for one of our cargo trailers. I had a rear light go out, and these units are sealed... You can't buy just a replacement bulb. They fit perfectly, and are bright and reliable. Customer service was amazing, quick delivery. I'm a contractor, with 6 of these large cargo trailers, and using these LED replacement lights is the only way to go. They never burn out! Love Etrailer.

One year later, the trailer lights are doing great. Thanks for checking in. That rig is used every day in our business, and they are performing fine.

Good fit. Bright light. Works as it sho uld.

It was exactly what I was looking for at a good price. Also, they were bulk order items placed in a box without all of the unnecessary packing that we are always flooded with. It was actually very welcomed change.

Great product just what I needed

It is the perfect size . It fits my boat trailer perfectly. When it is on the light is bright and crisp. I am glad I found etrailer as a supplier

@Steve LED lamps are much brighter and only use a fraction of the power that incandescent lamps do. We're glad you're happy with them!

91 Dodge dually had the old bulb red marker lights put the new LED red marker lights on have attached a picture so you can see what the lights look like and we are pressing the break so that's why they're bright

Good price, fast shipping, makes yo girl look new again

Glad I forgot to order tail light from manufacturer for my tow dolly when I ordered replacement fender. Yours is perfect fit, much better price and best value for shipping of all sites I checked.

As described and worked perfectly. Another pleasant transaction with

This LED trailer light is brighter than the incandescents and is form, fit, and function perfect.

fits like a glove!

Bright and work well so far, have not yet submerged into the lake. But a word of warning.. I was surprised the lights were just tossed loose into a shipping box. No packaging, no rubber grommets, no pigtails. Luckily both the old rubber grommets and electrical connectors were in good shape on my trailer, and the new lights didn’t get too banged up in the shipping box.

After a year the lights are still bright and work flawlessly. Multiple dunks into the lake and no water was able to get into the lenses... would buy again!

Nice lights, well made

Replaced all 4 lights on back of trailer and it looks great. Easy to order, fast delivery and communication every step of the way. They were incredibly easy to replace.

Nice, bright and easy to install. A much needed upgrade from the incandescent bulbs. Makes my boat trailer look great!

Just what the doctor ordered very bright quick delivery easy installation I would definitely recommend them to anyone that pulls the trailer

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Light When Brake Light And Turn Signal Stop Working
You can do a couple things to find the problem. The easiest thing to try is to remove the light from the right side and plug it into the wiring for the left. If all of the functions work then you know the left light is the culprit. If it is a sealed system you will probably just need to replace it. If you have the same issue with the right light when plugged into the left side wiring and it does the same thing then you will need to check the wiring from the connector all the way to...

  • Can Optronics 12V Lights Be Powered By 18V Battery
If you directly power the # STL72RB with your 18V battery it will damage the lights. However, you can use the battery if you get a step down converter. These are not something that we carry, but you can find them fairly easily since use of 18V drill batteries in trailers has become popular.

  • Can Boat Trailer Lights Be Used on a Camper?
You can absolutely use boat trailer lights on a camper. The trailer lights for boat trailers are the same in function they just are sealed for submersion instead of just water resistance. • Locating Replacement Lights for 2008 Featherlite Horse Trailer
We do have a large selection of trailer lights available. In order to choose replacements for your existing assemblies, I first recommend checking to see if you can find a model number or manufacturer information listed somewhere on the assembly itself. If you cannot locate this, then you will want to measure the unit in order to pick out a compatible replacement. Unfortunately, trailer manufacturers do not often maintain a record of smaller parts that they install on their trailers,...

  • Troubleshooting Left Turn Signal Light on Trailer that Is Dim But Not With Brake Lights
It is most likely a ground issue that is causing the problems you described on your trailer. Since several lights are behaving strange I would first check to make sure the main ground for the trailer is connected to a clean metal surface. You can also try running the ground wire of each light back to the main trailer ground and that will help as well. If the lights ground through the mounting hardware you also will want to make sure that they are attached to a clean metal surface.

  • Turn Signals on Trailer are Dim and Not Work with Running Lights On
There are a couple of possible reasons why the directional lights on your trailer are dim and do not work at all when the running lights are turned on. The most common cause for this type of issue is a weak ground. A weak ground connection will usually allow enough current through for some lights to pass, but not enough for all of them. Considering that the running lights will remain continuously on when activated, unlike the brake or turn signals, they will require more power and there...

  • Troubleshooting Excessive Trailer Tire Wear
The first place I would look is at the suspension components of your trailer. Worn out suspension can cause tires to wear strange. You could jack up your trailer (use jackstands) and get underneath your trailer and see if you can find any movement in your suspension components. While the trailer is jacked up also try and spin the wheels of the trailer. They should spin freely by hand but you should feel a light drag from the brake assemblies. If this drag isn't present the assemblies might...

  • Can Trailer Lights Be Wired for Both Turn Signals and Brake Lights Using Only One Light Per Side
You can absolutely wire your trailer for both turn signals and brake lights using only one light per side, as long as each light has either 3 wires (tail lights, stop/turn, ground) or 2 wires with a ground that goes through the mounting hardware. When using a 4-Way connector, this is very standard and typically how the trailer lights will be wired. You will have no issue wiring your trailer in this manner. • Troubleshooting Trailer Lights that Stop Working When Running Lights Are On
It sounds like there is a ground issue on your trailer, which makes itself known only when turning on the running lights because this requires a bit more power. A weak ground might be enough for certain functions to activate by themselves like your turn signals and hazards, but when an additional function like your running lights are turned on, there simply is not enough power to go around. I recommend checking that your main trailer ground is connected to a clean, bare metal surface...
