Big brake boxes take up leg space and clutter up the interior. The Echo Under-Dash stays hidden beneath the dash, leaving nothing exposed. The main unit measures just 3-3/8" long x 3" wide x 7/8" thick and mounts with included adhesive or zip ties. It’s out of sight, out of the way, and still easy to access for setup through your phone.
You don’t need a dash display or extra knobs to manage your trailer brakes. The Echo connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth so you can set max braking output, adjust sensitivity, and use the manual override right in the OneControl app. It works with Apple 5.0 and newer or Android 4.3 and newer. Even if Bluetooth drops, the most recently programmed settings keep working safely.
The internal 3-axis accelerometer senses how hard you’re braking and matches your trailer’s brakes to it. Light on the pedal means light braking on the trailer; hit the brakes harder and it responds in kind. That proportional control eliminates jerky stops and reduces wear on both tow vehicle and trailer brakes. It supports trailers with 1 to 4 axles and works with electric trailer brakes.
No splicing or wiring headaches here. The included custom harness plugs directly into the factory brake control port under the dash, then into the Echo unit. Once plugged in, calibration happens automatically—just connect your trailer’s 7-way, pair your phone, and you’re set to tow in seconds. Diagnostic LEDs on the box make setup checks simple.
Switching between different trailers is quick thanks to profile memory in the OneControl app. You can store separate braking output and sensitivity settings for each trailer and load them with a swipe before hitting the road. Whether towing one trailer or several, it keeps everything consistent and ready to go every time.

Needed a brake controller I could rely on because I was pulling my camper to a site at the top of a 25% grade within a few days. Unit plugged right into the harness for the factory brake controller (with the adapter cable) on my 2014 Ford F-150,and worked perfectly. Bluetooth connectivity works through the app (rather than through the phone's "settings" icon),and connects instantly. I'm very pleased with this product.
Product worked liked a charm!! I have a 2010 Ford Explorer XLT, and the Curt brake controller with the factory adapter cable was a perfect fit!
Note: Even though it doesn't specifically say on the etrailer website, the adapter connector WILL fit a 2010 Ford Explorer that has a Factory Tow package installed. The factory connector is located next to the steering column underneath the kickboard. It is kinda of hidden away, but it's up and next toe the brake pedal switch connector.
After a little research by the etrailer team it was determined this was the correct cable for a 2013 Tiffin Allegro with a pre wired 7 pin plug to go itch the Curt controller. The team worked and researched and was great with customer service.
This cable made the job very easy. took 10 minutes to plug in and mount with Curt Venturer Brake Controller. Very inexpensive solution. This is an old vehicle (2001 Expedition) and didn't want to put a lot of money into a brake controller setup. These parts and directions from the website made it quick, easy and inexpensive. I have not towed with the controller yet.
As first time truck and pop-up trailer users, we initially purchased a cheaper brake controller that required drilling the dash. This is a new truck, so we decided to switch and spend more for the Bluetooth. etrailer was easy to work with for a return, and the Bluetooth brake controller is fantastic - so easy to use with our new trailer!

Note: This option isn’t listed on either Curt or eTrailer, but it is absolutely an option if you have the factory installed OEM trailer tow package. Your factory tow package must be dealer activated in your vehicle’s software to use the quick connect harness shown here.

TIP: Select your model year and Land Rover Evoque (Shares the same chassis and tow electrics as the Discovery Sport) if you want the right part numbers for your quick connect options.
This is well worth the money. The cord ends appear to be high quality and fit the wiring connectors on the truck and brake controller perfectly. It makes hooking up your new Curt brake controller as easy as plugging in a cord. The only way to make this any easier is to have someone do it for you. The hardest part of the whole installation was finding the factory connector to plug this cord into. Hint: On my 2004 Ford F150, the brake controller connector was just above the factory diagnostic port underneath the dash.
I really wanted a trailer brake controller that I didn’t have to stick an ugly knob/box hanging off my dash. This was my solution and it works perfectly. Plugged right into my Honda Ridgeline existing plug, and easily connected to the app on my phone. Nice setup.
We purchased our new Ford Explorer with the towing package but the dealership said it didn't come with a trailer brake controller and nothing was made for our SUV so we would have to get an aftermarket controller and have them run the wiring. After looking online I found a video on etrailer.com and it was just as easy as the video to install, the hardest part was finding the Ford plug under the dash, very happy with this product and ready to haul our RV everywhere.
I was looking for a trailer brake controller that did not require a permanent mounting to the dash or center console of my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. I initially considered the wireless bluetooth controller from Curt Echo that plugs directly into the 7-pin outlet next to the tow hitch. However, reviews from individuals that tow RV trailers identified that particular option prevents the 12v battery on the trailer from charging off of the TV while connected. This would limit the RV utilization during long trips involving boondocking.
The Curt Echo under-dash controller seems to solve that problem and uses the same user interface as the Curt Echo.
Easy to install and operate; problem solved!
Although this seems like a great idea, the controller app from Curt/Lippert only works on a very recent cell phone or on an Android-based car stereo head unit. There are no factory Android car stereos available or aftermarket Android head units from the major players such as Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Alpine. The app is not Apple Car Kit or Android Auto enabled. This basically means you need to play with your cell phone while driving to adjust the brake controller. Even touching your phone while driving is illegal in many, many states. It really doesn't matter how good or bad the brake controller is if you can't use it. The same app is used for other Curt/Lippert Bluetooth Echo brake controllers and for their anti-sway controller and trailer tire pressure monitors. One has to wonder why this is even available for sale. I plan to simply avoid all Curt/Lippert Bluetooth trailer equipment in the future.

Plug and play. App is easy understand and use.
My favorite is with the app and on selected active profile you can see the amount of brake amount is being applied to the trailer when the vehicle brakes are applied. I also install the manual override button. FYI: you don’t need the app on your phone open for the controller or the manual override button to work. Also another nice feature of the manual override button is the size about the size of a quarter, uses a CR2032 battery and the battery level is displayed in the app.

This was relatively easy to install under the dash of our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, especially since ours has the factory Trailer Tow Package and therefore an existing pigtail connector ready to connect to the brake controller. The Curt wiring adapter made it super easy to connect the Brake Controller to the vehicle's wiring harness. The controller was easy to calibrate and worked seamlessly while we're towing a rented trailer. We used a dedicated (older) cell phone to operate it while we're towing to avoid any potential interference from other apps rather than using our regular phone on which we receive phone calls texts, etc. This was our first time towing a trailer and this easy-to-use Brake Controller helped make us feel safe and comfortable. Highly recommended.
Made installation a snap. Just mount the break controller, plug one end into the vehicle's factory plug and the other end into the break controller.

Excellent. Perfect fit, exactly what was needed. Connected the Curt C51110 Brake control to factory wiring. Only thing that could make it better is if it came with someone to plug it in for me and save me 10 seconds.

The products worked great up until about a few weeks ago Thats when I sold the truck where the items were installed. lol. Really though, I very much liked how the products listed and purchased from etrailer.com were easy to find, fit exactly as described, and performed as needed. etrailer.com is always one of the first places I look when searching for items for my new truck.

Do not buy either the Curt Under-Dash or plug-in Wireless brake controllers until Lippert fixes the phone app. I’ve used both happily with the old ECHO Smart Control app. I could use the remote manual button with the phone app not even running. As one would reasonably expect the button talked to the controller directly via Bluetooth. The new OneControl Auto app must be running and in the foreground to use the manual remote! And the most recent version of ECHO Smart Control is non-functional, it just tells you to install OneControl Auto.
The break controller worked seamlessly. Profiles are easy to set up and it has very reliable Bluetooth connectivity with my phone. Installation was really easy on my Honda Pilot!

The Curt wiring adapter was fine, however our coach was not wired with a plug in the harness, so installation required a little wiring work to complete. No big issue, the product was great

Everything was as described. Easy easy installation in 10 minutes. Not the top of the line controller but it's all I need. Very fast shipping as well. Couldn't be more happy with etrailer. I will be purchasing my fifth through etrailer soon!
I have to say, the unit works pretty well... Took some adjusting at first and sometimes have to still make small adjustments when the trailer brakes grab a little to much while coming to a stop. Easy installation and setup and does the job.
