Where is Install Connector on 2014 Ford Explorer for Curt Brake Controller
Published 08/27/2019 >
Question:
I have removed the metal plate under the steering wheel but have not been able to find the plug to connect the Curt Brake controller. My 2014 Explorer came with the tow package but no brake controller. Where should I look for the plug? And is it a particular color?

The correct install harness for a Curt brake controller in a 2014 Ford Explorer is the part # C51322. The harness you are looking for on your vehicle will be under the dash to the center towards the center console.
I attached an install video that shows a different brand controller and harness installed in a 2013 Ford Explorer which will be the exact same process. Around the 10 minute mark is where the connector on the vehicle is found.
