Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this RV Designer Gas Strut. So, this is a gas strut, kinda like a hydraulic support arm that you see typically holding things up like your RV doors, truck caps or storage compartments. So, it's main job is to make opening and closing smoother, safer, and whole lot easier. Now, measuring center of mounting point to center of mounting point, so center of socket to center of socket, we're at 17 inches. And this is going to give you about 40 pounds of lifting force, which is gonna help take some of that weight off when you lift something like a cargo door, bed platform.
Now, instead of it slamming shut, this strut's going to control the movement, so it's gonna open easily and close in a more controlled way. This does not include any hardware. This will attach to your current ball studs. This is a ball-and-socket installation. But I think it's gonna wrap up our look today.

We replaced the gas struts on the rv king size bed that came with our 5th wheel with these because after we upgraded the mattress the original ones couldn't support the weight. These are working much better and support the weight of the bed when lifted up with no problemo. They were very easy to swap out from the original ones also.
