Kodiak Trailer Brakes - KOD67FR

Highlights

  • Stops Sooner and Smoother: Disc design delivers short, controlled stops and prevents trailer push-pull.
  • Fights Corrosion: Dacromet coating resists rust in coastal, snowy, or saltwater conditions (300–400-hr salt spray).
  • Saves Time on Upgrades: 1-piece hub-and-rotor assembly includes bearings, races, seals, caps, bolts, and lug nuts for 1 axle.
  • Runs Cooler for Longer Life: Vented rotors shed heat to reduce fade and extend pad performance.
  • Low-Maintenance Setup: Fewer moving parts than drums mean less upkeep and easier pad changes.
  • Rated for 3,500-lb Axles: Fits 13" and larger wheels with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and #84 spindle.

Features to know about

Upgrade Old Drum Brakes for Better Control: Complete 10" Disc Kit with Hub and Rotor

If you’re ready to move on from drum brakes, this Kodiak kit makes it simple. The 10" hub-and-rotor assembly with 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and #84 spindle fit upgrades your setup for smoother, more consistent braking. Ceramic brake pads and a large 2-1/4" stainless steel piston deliver strong, responsive braking that keeps your trailer steady instead of pushing or pulling. You’ll get shorter stops, better control at highway speeds, and a safer overall ride.

Handles Salt, Slush, and Snow: Dacromet-Coated Cast Iron for Corrosion Resistance

Boaters and coastal drivers know what saltwater and road chemicals can do to brakes. These cast iron hub-and-rotor assemblies, calipers, and brackets use a Dacromet coating rated for 300- to 400-hour salt spray exposure. That protection holds up well in coastal environments or heavily treated winter roads, keeping rust at bay so your brakes last longer and stay reliable season after season.

Runs Cool and Stays True: One-Piece Vented Hub-and-Rotor Design

Heat buildup leads to brake fade and uneven wear, especially on long grades or frequent stops. Kodiak’s vented rotor design dissipates heat faster to prevent fade and pad damage. The one-piece hub-and-rotor assembly also eliminates the gap where water could collect in slip-on designs, reducing runout and uneven rotor wear over time. It’s a solid setup built for dependable performance.

DIY-Friendly Setup: Pre-Assembled Kit with Bearings, Seals, and Hardware

This kit includes everything needed to upgrade one axle—two integral hub-rotor assemblies with inner (L68149) and outer (L44649) bearings, races, grease seals, E-Z Lube caps, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. It’s built for straightforward installation without hunting down extra parts. Pair it with a hydraulic brake actuator rated at 1,500 psi or above and the appropriate brake line kit to complete your system.

Seams to be quality product.Does NOT come with mounting bolts for the caliper bracket mounts so make sure you have 8 -7/16 nuts and bolts on hand if you are switching from factory brake setup.
by:
Good Product, Great service.
by:
Kodiak disc brake kits look very nicely made and work well with no issues.
by:
Delivered on time. I did not give it a 5 because the boxes were pretty torn up upon arrival. Other than that everything went well.
by:
I'm so glad I swapped out these old drums. Installation was a breeze. Yes, I painted the calipers to match the Brembos on my Jeep SRT.
by:
Package box had a lot of damage. Bearings were not sealed in any packaging and were loose in the box. Not of the items had damage but I am not use to this type of quality from etrailer. etrailer is a very good company.
by:
It was several days late but that is not the fault of your company but a delay by UPS due to severe weather events. I was helped by a person named Eric P. who told me exactly what I needed and what kit to buy. The online install videos were very helpful as I had never done this before.
by:
No issue with products but incorrect pieces received and thou I indicated i was in the middle of replacement, the correct pieces were received 6 days later.
by:
They fit just like they should come fast and we’re good
by:
Fast delivery and just what I expected. One improvement I would suggest. The shipping box could be a lot better, the box was pretty much destroyed

  • Recommended Disc Brake Hubs, Lines, and Hydraulic Actuator for a Boat Trailer w/a 3,500 lbs Axle
Hey Wendell! Thanks for getting back to me with all that information! I recommend the Kodiak Disc Brakes - 10" Hub/Rotor item # KOD67FR. These hubs have a corrosion-resistant Dacromet finish that stands up great in both freshwater or saltwater. The hubs have a 5 on 4-1/2 lug pattern and work with 13" and larger wheels. For brake lines and fittings you'll want the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 18' item # 18SI-BLKIT. The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout...

  • Replacement Disc Brakes for Trailer With Dexter Disc Brakes
Hey Jack! You can use the Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD67FR as a replacement as long as you have a #84 spindle on that trailer. These use # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearings so you need to make sure that matches what you have now. If you aren't sure, you can send me the S/N off your axle tag, and I'll see if it can be identified by the manufacturer. What kind of trailer do you have?

  • Recommended Disc Brake Kit for a 2023 Winnebago Hike 100 TB13S
Steve, we do have kits like the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE22FR which could potentially work with your 2023 Winnebago Hike. This brake kit will work with axles that have a 6K capacity, a 6 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern, and a 5 bolt brake flange configuration so as long as this is what you have, then you'll be good to use this kit. You're also going to need an actuator like the Hydrastar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness # HS381-9067.

  • Will Kodiak Disc Brakes Work For Venture VATB-8025
Hi Jared; you can use Kodiak disc brakes on your Venture VATB-8025 but you will need to identify the axle first. Based on the typical GVWR for that model, you probably have 3,500 lb axles. You can either use the axle tag to identify them, or pull off a hub and check for bearing part numbers/measure the spindle. Assuming it is a standard #84 spindle on a 3,500 lb axle, the Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD67FR will fit. These have a Dacromet coating with a 300-400 hour salt spray rating. You may...

  • Looking For 3/16" Stainless Brake Line With 90-Degree MIF
Hey Allen, welcome back! We have quite a few different brake lines, and we will be able to get close to what you need, but I'm not seeing anything that checks all your boxes. Here are the potential options: - DeeMaxx Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Brake Line - 3/16" Male Inverted Flares - 2-1/2' # DE68GR This is a 30" braided stainless line with MIF fittings on both ends. No 90-degree fittings though. Next, if you have to have the 90 degree fitting, we have a 3/16" MIF hose with...

  • Picking Out Disc Brake Kit that Fits 2001 Jayco Eagle 12FSO
Hey JP, if your 2001 Jayco Eagle 12FSO has 3,500 lb axles on it then yes the Kodiak disc brake kit part # KOD67FR would be correct. I don't have a way to verify your axle capacity though so I would need you to run out and check and see what you have. It will be on the axle on a tag or if you get me the diameter of the axle I will be able to tell from that as well. If it is 2-3/8 inches in diameter that verifies it's a 3,500 as well. It will fit your 13 inch wheels as well. Your actuator...

  • Will 12" Wheels Fit Disc Brakes on Trailer
The only way you're getting a 12" wheel like # AM20153 on there is if you have a 2,000 lb axle and an 8" hub/rotor like the # KOD27FR. More than likely you have a 10" hub/rotor with a 3,500 lb axle. If that is the case, it will still depend on the style and brand of disc brakes that you have. For example, the Kodiak # KOD67FR can fit a 13" wheel like the # AM20245. The Dexter # T2HRCM10DAC works with 14" and 15" wheels. The Kodiak # K2R35D with a slip-on rotor also only works with 14"...

  • Is there a 3,500 lbs Idler Hub w/ Longer Lug Studs for Slip on Rotors?
Hey Sam. The 1/2" diameter x 2" long studs on the Kodiak Trailer Hub for 3,500-lb Axles item # KH84545S are the same size as the rest of our options for hubs. These idler hubs are specifically designed to work with brake rotors like the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit item # K2R35S. The only alternative option I have is to use the Kodiak Disc Brakes - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs - E-Z Lube item # KOD67FR and not use a slip on rotor. What kind of trailer do you have?

  • What Size Port Is On The Kodiak Disk Brake Kit KOD67FR?
Hi Brian! The brake line ports in the Kodiak Disc Brakes - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs - E-Z Lube # KOD67FR are all going to be 3/16" fittings with 3/8"-24 threads (it's specifically the # K22590A on the calipers). This is pretty much the standard that is used these days. What kind of trailer are you working on? And how long is it? we have a lot of options for brake lines as well!

  • Difference Between Kodiak 3,500 lb Hub & Rotor Disc Brakes
There is only a single difference between the two 3,500 lb Kodiak disc brake hub and rotor kits you asked about, and that's the protection given to the calipers. - KodaGuard-Coated Cast Iron Calipers: Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD59FR - Dacromet-Plated Cast Iron Calipers: Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD67FR The KodaGuard has a 500 to 600 hour salt spray rating while the dacromet has a 300 to 400 hour salt spray rating so you get better overall protection from the KodaGuard kit. It likely has 3,500lb axles based on the weight of your 1993 BayLiner 2609 Rendezvous. To verify you will need a Digital Caliper # PTW80157 to measure the spindle(see image below). You should find a measurement of 1.719 for the grease seal, 1.378" for the inner bearing and 1.063" for the outer bearing. If you have anything else please let me know so I will be able to help...

  • Troubleshooting Kodiak Outer Brake Pads Wearing Out Faster Than Inner Brake Pads
For uneven brake pad wear on your 10" Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD67FR you'll need to check the guide bolts as they likely are moving slowly or might even be seized up. This can be due to brake dust getting around the rubber boot and causing it to have a smaller diameter, or the bolts to no longer have proper lubricant. Remove the guide bolts and if they are dirty be sure to clean them with brake cleaner, wipe it all off, and then apply some silicone lubricant like the spray # RM-747 before...

  • How to Find Disc Brakes Converting From Drum Brakes on Boat Trailer With 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern
Going to electric over hydraulic is probably a bit of overkill, and disc brakes will serve you very well, but without the locking up. So that's the route I recommend, and since you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern it is likely you have a 3,500 lb axle, but you need to verify. To switch from drum brakes to disc, because you have to replace your hub you will also need to know the bearing numbers you have, which you can find by either measuring your spindle or removing your current hub and...

I can certainty provide you with the information you need to select these parts yourself but as far as giving you a list of parts, that's not going to happen unfortunately as there are no resources available to look this stuff up. That said, to get started you'll need to know your axle capacity. The axle capacity can be found on the axle tag in the center of the beam. • Are Dacromet and Stainless Brake Finishes Good for Boat Trailers
Yes, the Dacromet/Stainless finish on the 10" Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD67FR is arguably the best for boat trailers since it's the most resistant to rust and corrosion, although it's still a good idea to hose down your trailer with clean freshwater once you're done boating for the day. Then for a flexible brake line kit we have part # 15SI-BLKIT which comes with a 15' lead or the part # 18SI-BLKIT which comes with an 18' lead. Attached are some review videos for you to check out!

Hey Gerald, so we have the Kodiak disc brake kit part # KOD67FR which comes with the 10 inch hub/rotors, calipers, and brake mounting flanges as well as the bearings and seal but we don't have this kit with the brake lines. So you would need to get the brake line kit separately like the part # 18SI-BLKIT for a single axle setup or the part # 20TA-BLKIT for a tandem axle setup.
