Is there a 3,500 lbs Idler Hub w/ Longer Lug Studs for Slip on Rotors?

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 08/21/2025

Question:

We have 6 of the hubs listed below: Kodiak Trailer Hub for 3,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Stainless Steel Part Number: KH84545S Description states will accept slip on rotors. Studs are only 2 in length and leave us with roughly 1-1.5 threads short of flush with the end of the lug nut. I think there shold be at least 1-2 threads past the lug nut. Is there another option for a stainless hub with maybe a 2.25 or 2.5 length stud? Thank you.

Hey Sam. The 1/2" diameter x 2" long studs on the Kodiak Trailer Hub for 3,500-lb Axles item # KH84545S are the same size as the rest of our options for hubs. These idler hubs are specifically designed to work with brake rotors like the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit item # K2R35S.

The only alternative option I have is to use the Kodiak Disc Brakes - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs - E-Z Lube item # KOD67FR and not use a slip on rotor.

What kind of trailer do you have?

Hey Sam, did you find a solution for the hub and stud length issue with your trailer? I'm curious to know if the alternative option with the Kodiak Disc Brakes worked out for you, as it could help others facing a similar challenge.
