Availability Of 5-Lug Hub With 1.625" And 1.25" ID Bearings

Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 01/08/2026

Question:

We have a 5 lug Hub that we are trying to match a spindle to. It is a 2-1/4 dia spindle and the bearings ride on 1.625 and 1.25 diameters.

Hello Shawn, thanks for reaching out. What kind of trailer is this for? How old is it? I ask because the measurements you provided are definitely an oddball bearing combo, and I am sorry to say we do not have any hubs that use those bearing sizes. That 1.625" ID bearing is especially uncommon. We really only see that size on like old vintage cars and agricultural equipment.

With no hubs available, the next thing we would look at doing is replacing your spindle or replacing the axle entirely with something more standard. I am happy to go over that with you if that's something you want to look into.

Hey Shawn, did you end up replacing the spindle or the axle to get a more standard setup for your trailer? Knowing what route you took could really help others dealing with those uncommon bearing sizes.
