The products themselves I’m sure will do the job. I’m very disappointed in how they arrived. Poorly packaged, one piece of paper wrap did nothing. There was a hole in the box from the hitch not being wrapped up. There are chips in the powder coat.

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. I recommend touching up the affected areas with a rust resistant paint such as Rustoleum.

I needed a longer hitch for a close-clearance trailer, but I still wanted full towing capacity. This ball mount fits the bill exactly! I'm very pleased. etrailer's service and delivery was impeccable as well!

I was looking for a high weight rated ball mount that would also accommodate my Rock Tamers. This fit the bill perfectly!

This is really nice. Beveled edges so it slips into receiver hitch so sweet. Beautiful welds heavy weight mount for my weigh safe ball. I bought a 10,000 lbs hitch and I wanted a draw bar with the same type rating. Now the only thing limiting my trailer capacity is my truck's ability to tow, not the hitch, bar or ball.

I purchased a Ranch Hand rear bumper for my 2500HD but wanted to retain the use of a receiver hitch. The ball mount would need to extend 8" from the pin hole to even reach the edge of the bumper. This BM29 ball mount works out perfect. The welds look great and the finish is just fine. The only complaint I have is they gained a little length by moving the pin hole a little closer to the end shortening the insertion amount slightly. Not a big deal, it is just noticable next to the other mounts I have at the house.

Needed an extended hitch to keep the trailer further away from the truck due to the addition of stairs on my boat trailer. Works perfect.

Hitch ball and scale has performed well thus far.

Very nice. Would have given a 5 but delivery was to be Thursday, I needed it Friday. It came Saturday

Perfect size for a 2004 Jeep Liberty with spare wheel on back. Very nice quality. I can now mount my trailer hassle free.

Arrived quickly. Excellent quality prod ucts.

I ordered the Dexter nev-er-adjust electric trailer brake and bearing kit's for my Aliner. The installation was easy thanks to your instructional video's. The delivery was fast and everything fit perfectly. I took one twelve hundred mile trip and had no issues. I also ordered the Brophy ball mount because it was long enough for me to drop my tailgate without hitting the hitch crank.

Great product and quick delivery.

BM20 Long Drawbar. Perfect for my 2005 Jeep Liberty. I no longer have to remove the spare to tow. Solved what was a major pain!

Perfect, as advertised!

Gives me the extra 6" extension I need so that the rear liftgate on my van can open without hitting the trailer jack, or the spare tire which I carry on the trailer tongue.

This is a VERY solid piece, would easily handle far more than my 300lb tongue weight.
As usual etrailer delivered exactly as promised.

its been hung on the back for a year. I never take it off.All kinds of weather, including Hurricane Matthew, Totally bulletproof.I have only one complaint, I bang my shins into it once in a whilewhen loading stuff in the back. But thats me, not the hitch. In a year its pulled 3 different boats, 2 different trailersand, in a pinch, anchor point for the chain while felling a tree.
Paul R - 11/02/2016

This worked out perfectly. Had a flat bed put on one of our pickups, but the frame mounted hitch sat too far back from the new dock bumper. This ball mount moved it out just right so we didn't have to put a new receiver on the truck.

Holding up very well after a year.
Jim H - 10/04/2014

Fast delivery, quality product.

This product allowed me to open my deck lid on the tow vehicle while hitched. I love it, was delivered promptly and is excellent quality, could not love it more!
Also increased capacity from 600/6000 to 1000/10000 lbs. while not needed I like the safety of the margin.

Could not be happier, great item.

Excellent and very personable service. Great products. Quick delivery

Made in USA
Heavy duty tubing with nice
welding job. This is the perfect set for an extended hitch tube.
Great job Brophy!

Just what I needed to tow my boat

Richard J - 08/29/2019

Excellent, heavy duty, well built. HOWEVER, the width of the lip where the ball mounts is over a 1/4" wider than standard. This means standard accessories such as stabilizers and backup guides will not be able to be used with this ball mount.

No change. I had to have a custom ball mount made because of the limitations of your product and the complete lack of anything else.

I love this trailer hitch for my truck because it allows freedom to put tailgate up and down when we do equestrian camping. It has been a great purchase.

qrHi7y1cHxstyiLBlT7ulq4dj2wrQs4jmhfLP9DhMk= - 12/06/2018

We got this so we could open our tailgate without having to unhitch the trailer. It works great! Product is good, service was fast... it made our trip to Alaska much happier (our dog needs the tailgate lowered so she can jump in and out for potty breaks). We still need to have the truck and trailer pretty much straight in line with each other... if there is too much angle left or right, we can't fully lower the tailgate. We drive a 2015 Ford F-150.

I had never towed anything before and recently bought a small pop up camper. The Ball mount was to short for my 2011 Jeep Wrangler and I had to remove the spare tire each time to correctly hitch. This Ball mount is the perfect solution. Just the correct length to hitch up with out any more problems. Also better made and less expensive then the dealer sold me. By reading the questions asked by customers I was able to pick out the correct product. Great Web Site and Excellent service.

  • Longer Ball Mount Recommendation with Drop As Near to 1 inch As Possible
If you can't get the exact figure for the rise/drop you need the best solution is (if available) to go slightly higher in rise so that once the vehicle suspension is compressed slightly from the tongue weight it settles into being right at totally level. But if you can get much closer with a bit more drop than needed I would go that route over considerably too much rise as that will potentially add sway to the setup. But in your situation where you want 1 inch of drop from a longer ball...

  • Longer Ball Mount Recommendation for Adding Distance Between Hitch Ball and Bumper
There isn't a specific distance you want to have between the bumper of a vehicle and the hitch ball, but in general you'll want more than an inch. This will give you additional leeway when hitching up the trailer so that you don't slam the coupler of the trailer into the bumper as your backing up and will give you a bit more clearance. I'd recommend going with a longer ball mount like the Brophy # BM20 which is 13-1/4" from center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole. For a 2 inch...

Without knowing how much capacity you need it's hard for me to say if this would be enough, but another option that is slightly shorter would be the # BM20 which has a 10k capacity and is 13-1/4 inches from the pin hole to the ball hole. I cannot explain the contradictory information you found on the online retailer's site as the Brophy Ball Mount # BM20 that you referenced does indeed have the 10,000 lbs GTW and up to 1,000 lbs TW capacities as shown on the etrailer product page. I verified these specs with Brophy and they are also available on their website if you wish. With this ball mount you can use a hitch ball with a 1-inch shank diameter, such as the 2-5/16-inch Diameter # 63847 or the 1-7/8-inch Diameter # 19260.
