  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount or Hitch Extender for Towing Boat Trailer
For your 2018 Tahoe and boat trailer needing a longer extension between them I recommend the Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # BM20. Having a longer ball mount like this will not reduce the capacity of your hitch at all. This will give you a length of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the ball to the hitch pin hole. For a compatible hitch ball the shank needs to be 1 inch diameter for this mount. I recommend the 2 inch ball # 40038 or...

  • How do I use a Bike Rack and Pull a Trailer at the same time
We carry a very handy 2 inch ball mount for this exact application. The part is # D210. The ball mount slides and pins into your hitch and the top receiver will accept 2 inch bike racks and hold them above the ball. The Ball Mount has a 500 lb tongue weight capacity, which means that the bike rack and the bikes on it as well as the trailer tongue weight cannot weigh more than 500 lbs or the tongue weight capacity of the hitch, whichever is lower. We also have a bike rack that clamps around...

  • Longer Ball Mount Solution for Camper Towing with Tailgate Down for Added Clearance
The best way to add clearance when towing with a truck that has it's tailgate down is to go with a longer ball mount like the # D-26 that you referenced which is overall 12-5/8 inches. You can use hitch extenders but they end up cutting the capacity of the hitch they are installed by 50 percent so they aren't my favorite solution to recommend.

  • Recommended Extra Long Ball Mount For 2001 Ram 3500 With 11.5 Lance Camper
For your 2001 Ram 3500 Dually 4x4 with Lance 11.5 camper, I recommend the Brophy Ball Mount # BM20. This extra long ball mount will allow you to put the hitch ball center 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch receiver. This is rated for 10,000 lbs. I recommend the # 63845 for a 2 inch hitch ball or # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. If you need more length than the extra long ball mount, you may consider the Curt Extender for 2" Receivers -18" Long #...

  • Longest Ball Mount For 2 Receiver Available For Towing Boat Trailer With Trick Steps
I would be happy to help! The longest ball mount we offer is theBrophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # BM20 which measures 13-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. Now the # BM20 has a 10,000lb trailer weight rating, and 1,000lb tongue weight rating. As long as your boat and trailer does not exceed this, this would be your best bet for the clearance you are needing. For a compatible hitch ball you will need...

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 2021 Subaru Outback Towing Trailer with 15-1/2 Coupler Height
I have a solution for you, but there's not a ball mount with exactly a 1-1/2" drop. The goal is to tow your trailer as level as possible, so using a ball mount like the one that comes in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989891 that comes with a 2" drop would work just fine. This kit comes with both 1-7/8" and 2" hitch balls to allow you to cover trailers with different coupler sizes, plus a hitch pin, clip and storage bag.

  • Extra Long Ball Mount for Launching Heavy Boat Trailer
I spoke to my contact at Curt about the Curt Solid Steel 2" Hitch Bar part # D36 and they informed me that it does not have a weight rating because it is not in the finished form. The weight capacity will vary depending on the length and amount of gussets or reinforcements that are used. If you need something with an exact weight rating you may want to look at the Draw-Tite Ball Mount part # 4285 which has a 12" long shank (center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole), comes with...

  • Option to Increase Turning Radius of Trailer Towing Setup Without Losing Weight Capacity
Hitch extenders can add enough length to give a better turning radius but the problem is that they cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. So your best option would be to go with a longer ball mount to gain the extra clearance without sacrificing capacity. For example we have the Brophy Ball Mount part # BM20 which is 13-1/4 inches in length and has the same 6,000 lb capacity as your vehicle. I attached a review video for this for more info as well.

  • Long Ball Mount for Factory Hitch of 2011 Honda Pilot
The Brophy ball mount part # BM20 isone of the least shortest options we have (I think that's what you meant to type) which would work great for your application. Since you don't plan to tow, you'd have no reason to use a hitch ball either.

  • Does Using Extra Long Ball Mount Affect Towing Experience or Capacity
A longer ball mount like the Brophy # BM20 that you referenced will indeed put a bit more stress on the trailer hitch/rear of tow vehicle due to that added leverage, but not to the point of it having an actual negative impact on towing or cutting into your overall towing capacity. The manufacturers of this particular ball mount have determined through testing and physics well over my head that it will maintain the full weight capacity of your existing hitch, along with the tongue weight...

We do carry longer ball mounts so that you can use the Ball Mount Bike Racks like the Curt Clamp-On 3 # C18013. For example the Ball Mount part # BM20 has a distance of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the ball hole. If you need a ball mount with a drop of 2 inches this ball mount would work great for you. If you are unsure how much drop you need check out the help article I attached. I also attached a link to a page that has all of the longer ball mounts we carry...

  • Availability of Shorter Hitch Extension for 2 inch Hitch
The shortest hitch extender we offer for a 2 inch hitch is the Brophy # HE06 which measures 7-3/8 inches from pin hole to pin hole. If this is a towing setup a longer ball mount might be your best option to give you the length you are looking for. For example, the Ball Mount part # BM20 has a distance of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the ball hole.

  • Can 18 inch Hitch Extender be Used with Longer Ball Mount
Using the Buyers Products hitch extender part # 3371804017 with the ball mount part # BM20 would work well but you'd need to be really careful not to exceed the reduced capacity due to the hitch extender. The extender reduces the capacity of the hitch to 30 percent due to the length and movement created.

  • How Much Rise Does Curt Rockerball Give Ball Mount
The Curt Rockerballs like the part # C94CR add 1-1/2 inches of height compared to a standard ball so if you used this with a ball mount that has 2 inches of rise like the # C45270 that you referenced you'd effectively have a 3-1/2 inch rise. So for the amount of rise that you want your best option would be the part # C40047 for a Rockerball since it has a 1 inch shank diameter and then the Brophy ball mount # BM20 which has a rise of 3/4 inches. This would get you really close to what...

If you measure from the center of your hitch pin hole rearward 15-3/4-inches that point will be where the center of the hitch ball hole will be. I can help you out with choosing a ball mount. You do want the trailer to be level when you tow it so there are some measurements needed to determine the drop or rise needed to tow the trailer level. First, measure from level ground up to the top of the receiver opening on your 2011 Ford F-150. Then use the trailer jack to level the boat and measure from level ground to the bottom of the coupler. If the hitch is taller than the coupler the difference between the two measurements is the...

You'd only need a hitch ball, either 2" hitch ball # C54CR or 2-5/16" hitch ball # C40005 depending on your trailer coupler. Then to secure the ball mount use pin and clip # C21504 or hitch lock # e98881.
