Optronics MC48 Series Red Marker Clearance Light with Reflex Dimensions

P2-Rated Lights

Diagram of light spread for P2 rated light

A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

We have a 2007 34' Fleetwood Expedition Diesel Motorhome. We were in need of two replacement lenses and bulbs, as the two modules on the rear of each side of the motorhome were weathered and cracked. We Googled the DOT number and and a match came up under etrailer.com's website, under item number MC48RB. It is a perfect match! Shipping was good and we installed both replacements without any difficulty. Please see the picture of the original 2007 lens and unit and then look at the new one! Thank you for carrying item MC48RB.

Great product and Service!

by:

I have bought these before. They are excellent replacements for my motorhome and are good quality.

by:

I was very glad to find out about your website from a camper dealer, as I needed new clearance lights for our older camper and hadn't been able to find any. I was able to get the size and style of lights that I needed and the order arrived in good time. Your website is definitely the place to shop for after market items.

by:

They are exactly like the old ones that came on the trailer on 2000 and were so easy to install because they used the same light holder plug that attaches to lens.

by:

The light was exactly the same as the one that I broke and fit perfectly and worked perfectly

by:

Fit perfectly! Original 2005 lenses were cracking and taking on water, came with pigtails (I didn't use) and screw hole spacing as well as dimension were spot on

by:

Excellent replacement for my old original 2003 Tiffin Allegro Motorhome that came with the T. Bargman 68 SAE-P2-A-81 clearance lights. The new MC48RB used the same mounting holes and had about 5" leads coming off the light to make wiring easy. The new light is slightly brighter looking probably do to the old ones being weathered.

by:

These were only direct replacement for the bargman lights on by 1997 trailer. Price was great, delivery fast. Being direct replacement there are no holes to drill. Cut off old connectors and crimp the new ones on. Thanks.

by:

Amber and red driving lights were an excellent fit on my 1997 Mallard Travel Trailer.

by:

The marker lights were perfect. They look and fit great. The price was surprisingly reasonable. They did not come with screws which was disappointing but no big deal. Would have been 5 stars except for the shipping. Ordered on a Monday promised for Thursday, didn't arrive until Saturday. I would buy them again.

by:

The lights purchased were to replace the 5 or 6 night lights at the top rear edge of our Chinook Premier motorhome. They came with wires securely attached and were installed by our mechanic. They mounted flush onto the fiberglass surface of the coach and did the trick.

by:

We have ordered from etrailer twice, both times were a great experience, orders were shipped fast, this last order was for clearance lights for the rear of our Motor Home, fit was perfect. Thanks

by:

Fit perfectly, just what I needed.

by:

Perfect fit

by:

Ordered clearance lights for our sunseeker Kim did a great job of walking me through what I needed and getting them to me will shop here for parts I need thanks for the help

by:

have not installed these REd ones yet; however,
the
identical Yellow ones I ordered work as described
exact OEM for 1998 Tiffin Allegro Class A RV
I bought 5-6 of these in yellow as well as red to replace OEM ones that had failed after 22 years, only replaced a few of the front yellow ones, rear red OEM ones are still working.
Bulb and space for bulb could be bigger for a brighter illumination as I normally replace all my bulbs with larger/brighter/less juice need LED bulb, but this standard illumination is bright enough.

Still working, still wish I could fit an LED in it, but works great as is

by:

Exact replacement lights on my 2005 motorhome. My previous review of the amber lights stated they did not come with the gaskets. After reaching out to customer service, they sent me new lights with the gasket. Great work to make the order right.

Looks and works like the day I installed them

by:

Perfect replacement clearance lights

by:

Product was a perfect fit for my 2004 Fleetwood Bounder. I bought 4 running lights. 2 amber and 2 red. works great

by:

Needed all new clearance lights on my 2004 Allegro motorhome. Found these here and they were direct replacements for the Bargman OEM on the Allegro. I bought nine total, two amber and seven red. They were super easy to install and were of very high quality. Service from eTrailer was super. Shipped on a Sat via USPS and arrived on Monday. Packaging was great, no damage to any of the lights. Highly recommend these lights and eTrailer.

Bought these lights to replace the originals on my Allegro RV. Still lookgood and work perfectly. Very happy with the quality.

by:

Great product, ordered 3 first time as they claimed to be exact replacements for my older model DP motorhome. They fit perfect right out the box and are very bright, so I ordered more to replace every marker light on the Coach and several more for spares. A great product and couldn't beat the sellers price.

by:

We are a year out and these lights are great still bright and clear! Best replacements ever!

by:

Perfect fit

by:

Everything matched perfect, shipping was super fast. Communication great. Best online experience in a long time. Thank you very much

by:

Very nice product and price. Extra kudos to etrailer, one light of 6 ordered was missing a neoprene gasket. I contacted customer service and the sent a complete new light and gasket. Front row customer service!!!

  • Is There Replacement Lens for Optronics Rectangular Trailer Clearance, Side Marker Light # MC48RB
I checked with Optronics and they do not offer just the replacement lens for their Optronics Rectangular Trailer Clearance, Side Marker Light # MC48RB so you'd just need the entire light assembly.

  • Availability of Clear or White Lens Trailer Light
We have a variety of white lights designed for different purposes, but the Optronics Rectangular Trailer Clearance, Side Marker Light # MC48RB, which is a direct replacement for a Bargman 68 light, is not available with a clear lens. This light is only available with a red or amber lens. I have attached a link to the product page that includes all of our available white trailer tail lights to assist. You can search based on size using the filters on that linked page.

  • Determining The Correct Replacement Side Marker And Clearance Lights For 2008 American Tradition RV
While we more than likely offer replacment lights for your 2008 American Tradition RV, the numbers you provided do not cross-reference with any lights. To determine the correct replacement lights you will need to measure your current lights. For example if your red side marker light measures 4" long x 2" wide the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light w/ Reflector # MC48RB would be a great option. If you can send me the dimensions of the lights, and the dimensions of the mounting...

  • Recommended Replacement for Bargman 68 SAE-P2-A81 Red Clearance Light
There is not a direct replacement available for your Bargman 68 SAE-P2-A81 red clearance lights, however we do have a trailer light with comparable dimensions. I recommend looking at the Optronics Rectangular Trailer Clearance Side Marker Light - Red # MC48RB. The actual dimensions of the light are 3-29/32 inches long and 1-27/32 inches tall. It has the same 3-3/8 inch mounting hole measurement as the existing Bargman unit on your trailer. I have attached a short demonstration video...

  • Installing Optronics Rectangular Trailer Clearance Side Marker Light # MC48RB
The foam pad on the back of the Optronics Rectangular Trailer Clearance Light # MC48RB is designed to provide a tight seal and softer mounting surface when installing the assembly on the trailer. Unless you need to cover up any holes or space around the light, you do not need to use sealant or caulk. You will just need to screw in the light using the two surface mounts on the assembly. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can also check out.

  • Replacement Rear Clearance/Marker Lights For a 2001 Georgie Boy Pursuit Class A RV Motorhome
Based on images I could find along with your information it appears you have the Bargman 30-68-510 lights which cross reference to the Optronics # MC48RB. This has a similar square lens with the mounting holes spread 3-3/8" on center. Unfortunately we do not have the pigtail section available separately from the assembly but you may be able to just hold onto the lenses as spare parts in the event they break later down the road.

  • Replacement Clearance Lights for Wilderness L19 Travel Trailer
The closest thing we have is the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light w/ Reflector # MC48RB and # MC48AB. The distance between these mounting holes is 3-3/8" center to center so it will likely work with what you have. If you only took a rough measurement it is possible yours are actually 3-3/8" as well. I wasn't able to find the L19 but I did find older 19LN models that have the same light style on them.

So they are not exactly the same but they could work depending on the application. The Bargman Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light 30-68-510 or Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light part # MC48RB do not come with mounting screws therefore there is not an exact size recommend for this. That said, the screw will just need to be small enough to fit in the hole and long enough to secure both the lens and base. I really wish I had an exact size for you but the Self-Tapping Phillips Head part # 1131832 should work.

  • How Do You Wire Optronics Trailer Light MC48RB?
On the light you purchased from us, the # MC48RB (Thanks for your business!), the black wire is the power wire that needs to get connected to the running light circuit of your trailer, and the white wire needs to be grounded to the frame of the trailer. The existing wires on your trailer are not any sort of standard color, so you'll want to trace the back to see where they connect to, or can hook up the trailer to your vehicle, turn on the head lights, and use a circuit tester like # PTW2993...

  • Is There a Replacement Lens for Optronics Trailer Clearance Light MC48RB
The Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light # MC48RB does not have a replacement red lens; if you have this light and the lens was damaged you will need to replace the entire unit. There isn't an LED version of the MC48 series of lights, # MC48RB and # MC48AB, but I do have a solution for you. Since the bulbs in these lights are replaceable you could swap out the regular bulbs for LED bulbs. For the amber lens you would need an amber light, # ARC78FR. For the red lens you would need a red light, # ARC88FR. Both of these are sold as a two pack so you'll have what you need to do both sides of your trailer.
