No clunky box or knobs to deal with. The Curt Echo Under-Dash connects to your smartphone through Bluetooth, putting all your trailer brake settings right in your hand with the OneControl app. Adjust max output, fine-tune sensitivity, or hit the manual override right on-screen. The app also lets you store multiple trailer profiles so you can switch setups fast. Even if Bluetooth drops, the system keeps working with your most recent settings.
Instead of a bulky controller taking up legroom, this unit tucks neatly behind the dash. The small main box—just 3-3/8" long x 3" wide x 7/8" thick—mounts out of sight using an adhesive pad or zip ties. No drilling or cutting trim panels. You keep a clean factory look with nothing to bump your knees on.
The Echo’s proportional control makes towing feel natural. Its internal 3-axis accelerometer senses how hard you brake and sends matching power to the trailer brakes. Hard stops get full braking force; light stops are gentle and smooth. It works with 1 to 4 axles and supports electric trailer brakes for consistent control.
Hookup is simple thanks to the custom-fit harness that plugs directly into the factory port under the dash. Once connected, pair your phone via Bluetooth—usually in about five seconds—and you’re ready to calibrate and tow. The LED indicators show status and make setup easy without special tools or wiring skills.
Reverse polarity and short circuit protection guard against wiring mistakes, while diagnostic LEDs give quick feedback if something’s off. A limited lifetime warranty on the controller and a 1-year warranty on the harness back it up for the long haul.

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.

The wiring adapter made connecting the trailer brake controller so quick and easy that I dont think I will ever use butt splices again.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?
