Comparing Redarc Liberty and Curt Spectrum Brake Controllers For a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 with factory tow package. I am between the Redarc and the Curt Spectrum controller. Is the Redarc that much better? 1. How long ago has the spectrum been out? 2. Do you offer a bigger knob for the Redarc? 3. Will the Redarc Liberty work for my truck? 4. When it says support two axles, does that count just the brake axles? My trailer only has one brake axle.

Personally, I have seen a lot fewer issues with the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR than with the Curt Spectrum # C51170. The Spectrum was released in early 2018. Currently Redarc only offers the one size control knob.
To install the Redarc Liberty # RED24FR in your 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 you will need the Tekonsha Pigtail # 3064-P and the Redarc to Tekonsha Adapter # 331-TPH-017. This will support up to 2 braking axles or 4 brake assemblies.
If you go with the Curt Spectrum # C51170 you will need the Pigtail # C51525. The Curt supports up to 4 braking axles or 8 assemblies.
