Recommended Custom Fit Brake Controller Adapter to Install a Primus in a 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500

Hey Jason, congrats on the new truck! Tekonsha's parent company is going through bankruptcy and is under investigation for a massive fraud scheme. They have not made a custom fit wiring harness for your 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 and I would not expect there to be one.

The only solution I have to install your Primus brake controller is to use the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter item # C51525. This will plug directly into the factory port on your Silverado. You'll then need to cut the Curt specific connector completely off and splice it directly to the wiring coming off of your Primus.

The factory port you're looking for is going to be located under the dashboard on the driver's side, near the junction box/body control module to the left of the steering column. I've linked an installation video and attached a picture to help you locate it.

You can also use the Replacement Brake Control Plug-In Harness item # 20127 to hardwire the controller in manually. If you go this route, I highly recommend purchasing it as soon as possible because once we're sold out we do not expect any back in. You could also use this to splice into the Curt item # C51525 to avoid cutting off the connector on your Primus.
