Question:
Looking for the best break controller for a 2022 GMC Yukon XL AT4. I tow a 6,500 lbs travel trailer. Thank you.

Expert Reply:
I prefer brake controllers that have proportional braking. Your trailer gets the same braking power that you are applying in your tow vehicle. With that in mind, my recommended brake controller is the Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional - Dash Mount, part # C51170. You will also need the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In, part # C51525. This controller can be installed in your cab in any orientation and it plugs into your existing hardware in the cab. It also has a manual override so you can control your trailer brakes independent of your tow vehicles brakes in an emergency.
I have included a product description link and a video installation link below.
