The Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller # C51170 will not charge the breakaway battery on your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTD. The charge line portion of the 7-way trailer connector runs on a separate terminal(see image). The charge line will be located in the 1 o'clock position while power from the brake controller is sent through the terminal in the 5 o'clock position.
If you are not getting 12 volt power to this terminal you will want to check the fuses on your Silverado.
The Curt Custom Wiring Adapter # C51525 will allow you to connect the Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller # C51170 directly to the factory connector located behind the dash of your Silverado so there is no wire splicing required.
