Most brake controllers stick out and get in the way, but this one mounts nearly flat. At just 1" thick and 4" long, it tucks cleanly into your dash while keeping the controls easy to reach. The under-dash box style keeps it low profile, and the bright LED display shows settings and alerts without glare thanks to adjustable brightness and a night mode option.
No more jerky stops or push-pull motion when you brake. The TriFlex NEXT senses how your tow vehicle slows down using an internal 3-axis accelerometer, then applies the trailer brakes with matching intensity. That means smoother, even braking across your whole setup—light brake pressure gives gentle stops, while hard braking brings both vehicles down quickly and safely.
Dialing in your trailer’s braking is quick with two rocker switches. Set gain anywhere from 0.5 to 9.9 in 0.5-point steps to match your trailer’s weight, then use the load control (1–9 scale) to adjust how quickly that braking power comes on. It’s easy to tweak for different loads or conditions until it feels just right—firm enough for control but smooth enough to avoid lockups.
Built-in safety features keep everything protected while towing. Continuous diagnostic checks alert you to any wiring or brake issues, while polarity protection prevents shorts or reversed connections. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the controller automatically enters sleep mode to minimize battery draw, waking instantly when you press the brake pedal again.
Hookup is simple—just connect the included harness to the factory brake control port under the dash and plug the other end into the controller. Automatic leveling lets you mount it at any angle using the supplied bracket and hardware. Once connected, you’re ready to tow up to 4 axles (8 brakes) with smooth proportional control right from your dash.

Hey Chris, thanks for the feedback. The custom pigtail included with the controller is intended for vehicles with a factory tow package. If your Tahoe didn't have a factory brake control plug, this likely means you don't have the factory tow package, which is why you had to cut off the plug and splice the wires. Generally non-tow package trucks use a universal pigtail which is just 4 bare wires with no plug.
