If your trailer spends time near saltwater or on winter roads, corrosion can ruin ordinary brakes fast. These Demco hydraulic drum assemblies use galvanized backing plates, stainless steel springs, and zinc-plated wheel cylinders for dependable rust resistance. They’re made to last through splashdowns, road spray, and storage season after season without seizing up or flaking apart.
Hydraulic drum brakes deliver stronger, smoother braking than electric setups. These 10" x 2-1/4" assemblies fit standard 4-bolt flanges and work with 14" or 15" wheels on axles rated up to 3,500 lbs. The single plunger cylinder provides steady braking and still offers about 15–20% of full braking force when backing up, so you stay in control even on tight ramps or inclines.
Frequent stops and heavy loads can chew through cheap brake linings. Demco’s semi-metallic pads are riveted to the shoes for strength and stability, resisting crumbling or warping over time. They produce less dust than organic pads and hold up better under repeated hard braking, giving you consistent stopping mile after mile.
Keeping your brakes dialed in is straightforward with the built-in star wheel adjuster. Periodic manual adjustment keeps stopping distances short as pads wear. The included adjuster plugs help keep dirt and grime out of the mechanism so it turns smoothly when you need to tighten things up.
The kit includes both left-hand (driver’s-side) and right-hand (passenger’s-side) brake assemblies ready to bolt to most standard hub-and-drum setups, including etrailer, Dexter, and Lippert (LCI). Each assembly is backed by a 1-year warranty for peace of mind once they’re installed and bled into your hydraulic system.

I have been using demo brakes for close to 20 years and never a single problem. Great product.
I'm not sure what happened when you guys were packing this order, I received two right side brake kit's (the correct parts), and two right side free-backing brake kits! Now, I can use a standard and a free backing kit per side of the trailer, but my trailer doesn't have 4 right side wheels. It only has two on each side.
Unfortunately, I'm in a time crunch and can't afford to wait for 2 way return shipping, so I bought two left handed wheel cylinders locally, and swapped the hardware on 1 standard and 1 free-backing kit. I guess I'll put the free backing kits on the rear axle, and the standard kits on the front axle.
I'm curious though, Do you guys get alot of folks using trailers with 4 right side wheels?
I kinda don't know what to do with the poor/average/excellent stars thing. On one hand, you guys were super fast and quality seems good, but on the other hand, my trailer has wheels on both sides.
One year later and the brakes are still working great.

Delivered with left side plunger clevis laying g in bottom of box, had to reassemble. Missing grease seals I ordered but etrailer was good about it and sent me another pair. Things happen and I still recommend them.
A little mixup in the order but etrailer customer service was all over it and made things right. Parts were of good quality. I will use etrailer again.
Installed on our boat trailer, fit was excellent and worked great last year. Have yet to tow the boat but will shortly and expect the same great operation, I wish they were self adjusting but plan on making any adjustments prior to vacation. Great service as always from etrailer.
Everything looks okay. There was concerns when I opened the box. Everything was loosely packed and shifted all on one side of the box. I had to adjust one of the brake shoes due possible moving around the box during shipping shipping. Giving low rating due to how it was packed and could have cost more time from using my trailer if anything was damaged
I needed brakes shoes, bearings, seals, piston and drums i.e. a complete rebuild on my boat trailer. I called etrailer to place the order. I was lucky enough to get Stacy to assist in getting everything I needed. Stacy was not only very knowledgeable but also enjoyable to work with. She was also patient with me as I had to put her on hold to get more information that I forgot to get before the call. She double checked all my needed items before placing the order.. She even took a minute for some small talk as we waited for the order to log. I've not had customer service like this in quite some time. After the order was placed, i realized that I made another measurement error and had to change the order.
I called Stacy back and she updated the order and made the correction on the amount I owed... I actually saved a few bucks.
Once again etrailer has customer service like no other online company I've done business with.

Easy to install, great product! First time working with this company and very happy with my experience, awesome customer service.
Perfect replacement on my 3500lb axle boat trailer, 1996 Trailrite. Brakes bolted right up. Galvanized finish was complete, and well done. These assemblies appear as if they will last for many many years over the original factory brakes. Outstanding price point. Wanted to go to electric disk, however I'm very happy with these replacement brakes, and for the price and stopping power I'm very happy. I highly recommend. Shipping time was rapid, and FREE. With the help of a friend, replacing these brakes, actuator, and bleeding the system was about 3 hours work. Well worth it!
I ordered the wrong set of brakes for my trailer and etrailer exchanged them without any issue. The second set fit my boat trailer perfectly and has worked great for the year.

It has been a full year and many miles of trailering my boat and the brakes still work great. I have manually tightened them twice so I know they are taking wear and tear of of my truck brakes.

I cant say that we do, Ken! I am so sorry that we sent the wrong brakes! I also want to mention mixing free backing and standard breaks will cause the breaking to be uneven and is dangerous! I am going to look into this for you and see what we can do to make it right.
