  • Replacement Hydraulic Brakes for Pop-Up Camper
Brakes like the Dexter # 23-398-399 that are rated for 2,500 lbs have the capacity to work with 1,800 lb axles, but to get the right brakes you'll need to know your brake's mounting flange bolt pattern as well as your drum diameter. The aforementioned Dexter brakes will work if your trailer has a 4-bolt mounting flange and your drum is 7" diameter x 1-3/4" wide. I have added a link to a help article for you to check out what you need to know to add hydraulic drum brakes to your trailer...

  • Looking For 7" x 2" Hydraulic Brake Assemblies With Parking Brake
Hello Steve. The only parking brake ready 7" brake assemblies we offer are the Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes # K23-103-104-00. These are electric brakes and they have 7" x 1-1/4" brake shoes. They use the same 4 bolt pattern for the backing plate as your brakes. We do have some 7" x 1-3/4" Hydraulic brake assemblies part # 23-398-399, but nothing that is parking brake ready.

  • Replacement Brakes, Hub and Drum Assembly with L44649 Inner and Outer Bearings on 2000lbs Axle
I have a solution for you, but the # AKUBRK-35-D are 10" brakes and will be too large for the hub/drum assemblies that fit on your axle. Instead you'll want to use the Dexter # 23-398-399 which are a 7" brake assembly that can be used with wheels between 10" and 13" diameter. It sounds like you also need new hubs, so you can use the etrailer Axle Tech # AKHD-545-2-2K which are a 2000-lb capacity and have # L44649 inner and outer bearings to match your specifications. This hub and drum assembly...

Thank you for the pictures! We do offer a trailer brake option that will work with the 10" wheels on your 2014 Shorelander Trailer. Since the trailer will be in water you will want to use the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399 which includes both left and right assemblies and is for hydraulic brakes and will bolt the 4 bolt brake flange found on your axles that I was able to see in your picture. Thanks for that great information we have exactly what you need for your 2,000 lb axles. The number you gave of 1.063 inches in diameter where your bearings ride on the spindle corresponds to Bearing # L44649. Knowing that, we can get you the correct hub and drum, which is the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-2K. These hub and drums work with 7" brake assemblies and for hydraulic brakes the correct assembly is the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399. These...

  • Can Replacement Parts Still Be Had for Atwood Hydraulic Braking Assemblies 84210
The Atwood Hydraulic Braking Assemblies 84210 are no longer made so replacement parts for them are not easily found. If you wanted, you could scour the internet and you might have luck finding someone with replacement parts for these in stock. That said, I would have my doubts of this since they are very old and no longer produced so the best option would be to replace the assemblies for which we have the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-398-399. The correct replacement for Atwood 7" x 1-3/4" Hydraulic Drum Brakes is the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-398-399. If you are having trouble removing the old brakes, I recommend applying heat but you can cut the nuts off worst case. Unfortunately, Atwood is no longer in business and there will be no replacement parts like the shoes etc. for this assembly.

As you probably noticed Atwood is no longer in the actuator and brake assembly business so any spare parts are becoming extremely difficult to find. We do not currently have any replacement wheel cylinders that would work with your existing Atwood assemblies. • How To Find Which Hydraulic Brakes Fit 1997 Jayco Eagle 12 UD ST Pop-Up Camper
I'd be happy to help you find out which hydraulic brakes are going to work on your 1997 Jayco Eagle 12 UD ST pop-up, but there isn't a database for me to find any of this information so you're going to need to do a little work here. The easiest way is look for an axle tag on the center of the axle beam, but with the age of your trailer it may not be there. If it's not there then look for a part number stamped on the front of the hub, I can use that to figure out which size brakes you use. If...

  • Why Are Dexter Drums 8-271-7UC3-EZ and 8-257-5UC3 So Different In Price?
The reason for the price difference is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-271-7UC3-EZ are only compatible with hydraulic brakes, where the # 8-257-5UC3 are compatible with electric and hydraulic brakes. Since most people use electric trailer brakes on this size axle the # 8-257-5UC3 is the more popular choice. For compatible braking assemblies we have the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399 if you are wanting hydraulic brakes, or Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2...

The difference between part # 8-276-5UC3 and part # 8-173-16UC3 is that the 5UC3 works with a 7" x 1-3/4" brake assembly while the 16UC3 works with a 7" x 1-1/4" brake assembly brake assembly. Other than that they use # L44649 inner and outer bearings and a 10-9 grease seal that has the 1.5" inner diameter. You definitely want to go with assemblies that match your bearings so if you're able to confirm that you have L44649 bearings then I'd use one of the options mentioned above. The GVWR...
