Question:
Have boat trailer used in salt water. What are your best recommendations?
asked by: Birger
Expert Reply:
Ideally, for a boat trailer and salt water applications, stainless steel is the best option which is only available in disc brake form. Galvanized and dacromet are the next steps down. I would be happy to make more specific recommendations if you can tell me what size brakes you need. To measure for drum brakes measure the inner diameter of the drum and the inner width where the pad material makes contact with the drum. I included a picture illustrating where to measure.
