Passenger's-side hydraulic drum brake features a single-plunger design. Automotive-grade friction pads and e-coated backing plate are long-lasting. Fits 13", 14", and 15" wheels.

Features:

  • Hydraulic drum brake assembly is designed for use with a surge-type trailer brake actuator
  • Automotive-grade friction material is molded to brake shoes
    • Pads are fully bonded - not riveted - to shoes for long life and more braking torque
    • Less chance of cracking and crumbling that can lead to mechanical lockup, thanks to tapered edge and circular grinding
  • Periodic manual adjustment required
    • Fine-tooth brake adjustment gear allows for a more precise setting
  • E-coated backing plate resists wear and corrosion
  • Single plunger design
  • Adjuster plugs (included) cover access holes to keep dirt and grime out of the assembly and off of the shoes
  • Brake mounting bolts are included
    • Nuts and lock washers (BRKH10BS) sold separately

Specs:

  • Application: most standard hub-and-drum assemblies, including Dexter, Lippert (LCI), and AL-KO
  • Configuration: right hand (passenger's side)
  • Dimensions: 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide
  • Mounting flange bolt pattern: 4 bolt
  • Wheel size: 13", 14", and 15"

This trailer brake assembly acts as part of your trailer's hydraulic braking system. A hydraulic trailer brake actuator is required for this brake to function.

Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This brake assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This brake assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This brake has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

Automotive-Grade Friction Material

Each shoe on this brake assembly is lined with automotive-grade friction material for improved stopping performance and longevity. The friction material is fully bonded onto the surface of the brake shoe. This lining is custom-molded for a perfect fit. The edges are tapered to ensure long-lasting performance. This taper, along with the circular grinding that the lining undergoes, helps to prevent cracking and crumbling. This durability helps to prevent mechanical lockup, which can occur when brake shoes are excessively worn or broken.

The friction material is also SAE-N certified, which means that it is an environmentally safe product that complies with California and Washington regulations regarding the composition of brake pads. As a result, this material not only provides high-performance braking that can endure the test of time, but it is also environmentally friendly and safe for use throughout the United States and Canada.

  • Will the 10" Hydraulic Trailer Brakes Fit a 2004 EZ Loader Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
In order to determine if the Hydraulic Trailer Brake part # AKUBRK-35R for right hand side or part # AKUBRK-35L for left hand side will fit your 2004 EZ Loader Boat Trailer you will first want to confirm that you have hydraulic brakes which is more than likely the case. Then, you will want to know your axle capacity which can be found on the centerline of the axle. These assemblies are rated for use on axles up to 3,500 lbs. Once the axle capacity is confirmed you will then want to measure...

  • Free Backing Hydraulic Brakes for a 3,500 Lb. Axle
The Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit part # AKUBRK-35 (part # AKUBRK-35R + part # AKUBRK-35L) does not have a free backing design. They have a single servo design which means you would need a reverse lockout on your trailer coupler in order to reverse the trailer. Instead, you will want to use the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit part # AKFBBRK-35 which does have a free backing design and will allow you to reverse without a reverse lockout.

  • What Are Mounting Bolt Hole Sizes For Replacement Hydraulic Trailer Brakes
The hydraulic trailer brake you referenced, Item # AKUBRK-35L, fits 4-bolt flanges with a 2-7/8-inch hole spacing and is suitable for use on a 3500-lb axle. It fits the driver's side and brake mounting bolts are included. For the passenger side, use Item # AKUBRK-35R. Nuts and lock washers are sold separately and are available in brake mounting hardware kit Item # BIK-00 (one kit needed per wheel). I recommend the Brake Adjustment Spoon Item # W80630 as well. • 3,500 lbs. Axle with Hydraulic Drum Brakes Kit
I have a solution for you but unfortunately we do not carry any axles that come with hydraulic brakes. What you will need to do is buy the parts separately, but I have all the parts you will need. First, for an axle, you will need the Dexter Axle Beam with EZ Lube Spindles # T3584F-EZ-8974. This axle is 89" long with a weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. which is the same as the # e43SR Axle you were looking at. For your Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assemblies you will want the etrailer Left Hand...

  • Single Hydraulic Brake Line w/ Male & Female Fittings For Right Hand 10 Inch Hydraulic Brake

The hose that has the correct 3/8" fittings and male and female ends like the Demco is the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings - 25" Long # T0980100 or 18-25/32" Long # T0776500. Also wanted to mention that the # AKUBRK-35R does need Mounting Hardware # BRKH10BS.

  • For Dual Axle Trailers Does it Matter Which Assembly Goes on Front Axle or Rear Axle?
No. There won't be a difference in the # AKUBRK-35R from front to back, but there is a difference between the Left and Right Hand assemblies. This particular brake is for the right hand side (passenger) of the trailer. The corresponding brake for the driver's side would be # AKUBRK-35L or you can buy the complete set with # AKUBRK-35. For dual axle trailers you'll need 2 of each assembly as well as 2 sets of mounting hardware (lock washers and nuts) # BRKH10B since these brakes do not come...

  • Is There Left and and Right Hand Version of Trailer Brake Assembly # AKUBRK-35R
The brake assembly part # AKUBRK-35R is a right hand assembly. If you wanted the left hand version you'd want the part # AKUBRK-35L as these are not ambidextrous.

  • Parts Needed to Add Hydraulic Drum Brakes to 3,500 lb Axle
The only solution that's a slip on brake system for a trailer idler hub would be a disc brake setup. So to go to a hydraulic drum setup you'd have to get new hub drums and brake assemblies. Which for that you'd need the # AKHD-5475-35-K with the brake assemblies # AKUBRK-35L and # AKUBRK-35R.

  • Replacement Hydraulic Brake Assemblies and Bearings for 3,500 lb Trailer Axle
The trailer brake assembly part # AKFBBRK-35R that you referenced is a correct option for your trailer based on what you mentioned. It would work even though you don't have free-backing plates currently but if you didn't want that option you could use the # AKUBRK-35R instead with the matching left hand side # AKUBRK-35L. Then for a bearing kit that would have the correct bearings and seal you'd want the part # BK2-100.

For hub drums that will work perfectly with the Timbren 3,500 Axle-Less System # ASR3500S04 referenced in your question I recommend the etrailer.com # AKHD-5475-35-K. These hubs are compatible with the spindles on the Timbren system and their 5 on 4-3/4 inch bolt pattern will fit your existing wheels. Then for hydraulic brake assemblies that will work with these hubs I recommend the etrailer.com # AKUBRK-35R for the Right Side and # AKFBBRK-35L for the Left Side. These particular assemblies...

  • Solution for Needing New Brake Pads for 1996 Stratos Duel Axle Boat Trailer
To pick out replacement brake pads I'll need to know the brand of the brake assemblies you have to see if we can get you setup with replacements. Or if you'd be willing to replace the assemblies I would just need the size of the assemblies or the axle capacity and we can pick them out much easier. Due to the age of your trailer it will probably be easier to go by assemblies. Often times they assemblies aren't that much more than the shoes/pads too we've found. You will want to measure...

  • What Is the Torque Spec for 4 Mounting Bolts Used to Install 10" Trailer Brakes
The nuts on 10" hydraulic brake assemblies, like part # AKUBRK-35R, should be torqued between 45-70 foot lbs. A torque wrench is recommended to tighten down the nuts to the correct specs. But, if you don't have one on hand, tightening them down until the washer is flat should get you within the recommended torque spec range.

  • Recommendation for Hydraulic Trailer Drum Brakes and Coupler on 1999 Shorelandr Boat Trailer
The surge brakes on your 1999 Shorelandr boat trailer can be replaced with the Hydraulic Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Free Backing - Dacromet - 10" - Left/Right Hand - 3,500 lbs # AKFBBRK-35-D. The Atwood surge coupler is no longer available and neither are the replacement parts. My recommendation is to replace your entire coupler with the Demco Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator - Drum Brakes - Zinc Plated - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs # DM72VR.
