When you’re loading up for a weekend on the water or a long road trip, you want a rack that won’t flex under pressure. The Yakima SkyLine Roof Rack uses aluminum JetStream crossbars built to handle up to 165 lbs, giving you sturdy support for kayaks, cargo boxes, or camping gear. Roof racks can get noisy fast, but the JetStream crossbars are shaped to smooth airflow and reduce vibration. Rubber strips in the top channels seal around your mounts and help cut down on whistling and wind noise during highway drives. Mounting accessories shouldn’t mean cutting and fitting rubber strips by hand. The push-down strips on these crossbars let you drop your carrier hardware right into the top channels—no trimming needed. Once installed, the strips settle back into place to close off the channel, keeping things secure and low-profile without extra steps.
Whether it’s kayaks in summer or skis in winter, this rack gives you flexibility across seasons. The aero-style bars work with most universal carriers that mount in the top channels or clamp around the bars. That means your existing accessories fit right in, and you can switch setups easily between trips.

These Landing Pads are needed with the Yakima System to connect the Towers (which hold the crossbars) to the rails, which in my case are on top of my pickup canopy. There are many sizes of Landing Pads available, but the Landing Pad 1 I needed connects to the standard Yakima Rails. etrailer had them in stock when I needed them and shipping was fast and easy.
The bars are sturdy, aerodynamic and super strong. I bought this to fit a Yakima Skybox 16 and these worked great. The measurement ticks on the bottom assist with getting the box centered and have a great gasket system that you fit yourself. These mounted pretty quick even in 20 degree weather.
etrailer sold this as a set based on my car and every piece was great and a perfect fit. Communication and tracking info was great and they delivered it a day before promised.

I've been using the roof rack a lot in the last year for recreation and for work. They give me confidence that the load will stay put, and arrive safely. I also take them off frequently since they hum happily at highway speeds, so I'm happy that the bars are easy to lock on or take off.
These Yakima crossbars are a part of the Yakima towers I bought to install on my Jeep Cherokee to hold a pair of Kayaks. They fit great as advertised. In fact I got these discounted as an open box. Bought these Landing Pad 1 bases to use with Yakima tracks on a Leer camper shell on my 2016 F150. The bases are very easy to install and worked perfect with my Control towers. Great quality as expected with Yakima.
Product worked well with my already installed Yakima rails and the towers attached to bars that I use on another vehicle. Easily installed. Now I can switch the kayak carrying Yakima bar and tower rigs from one vehicle to the other with minimal effort.
Very nice quality towers. Very heavy duty! They have a cool "snap" on / off mechanism for quick removal and installation.
Excellent product. These bars are very quiet and look great on our truck. Assembly and installation was straightforward. We've used these bars to secure our large Yakima car top carrier and have traveled on several trips to the mountains and cabin with no issues. I suggest ordering an extra set of end caps as we've lost one in the car wash. However, have had no problems with the bars when going through the car wash.

1 year later and still love my Yakima JetStream system. I've mostly used them to transport my kayak however I've also been able to transport some big box store items as well. They are very versatile. There is a t-track option as well as wrap around attachments. I've use ladder attachments, eyebolts, and Thule Hullavator in t-track. I've used Malone MegaWing and Yakima Skybox as wrap around attachment. What I really like about the t-track system is that you do not need to cut out the rubber track insert. You simply slide over the rubber, which allows you to adjust your system, on the fly, to load what you need to carry.
Honestly, I love etrailer. I love the expert help that you all provide. It's clear by the 1 year follow-ups that you care more about the relationships with your customers then just making a sale. The product itself was excellent. However, it came with no installation instructions showing how to remove and replace the shorter cross-bars. Fortunately, my son-in-law who is an engineer and very knowledgeable figured it out and did the installation.
Product exactly as expected. Quality bars. Using on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Looks great installed. Little to no wind noise. And, as usual, top notch service by the etrailer crew! The Yakima rack system for my 2015 Ford Fusion is an awesome product! I hadn't needed to buy aftermarket racks in many years. These are a super solid, beefy, and very well made product. I am very impressed with the quality and fit. Yakima has obviously put lots of design time into them. And etrailer does an outstanding job of making sure you get the right product for your specific need.
I chose this rack specifically because of the spread between the bars - 32" - and for the higher weight limit, as I'm carrying a fishing kayak.
Not a bad setup. I dont believe you need the 60" bars i received as they hang over the edge of your Hyundai. You need to watch your head getting in and out of your vehicle. The Jetstream crossbars are very loud at speeds over 65 mph. Im probably used to it by now, but it is definitely noticeable. Much louder than an older Rhino Rack of similar dimensions i had. Install was simple and took about 30 minutes, just take your time and measure correctly like all roof racks.
I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT which has the non-functional roof side bars. Etrailer.com helped me figure this out and gave me several options that would work. As I already have Yakima bike racks - I wanted to stick with the brand. The price on etrailer.com was the same as Yakima but had free shipping and no tax - awesome. Product arrived quickly!
I went with the Yakima 60" Jetstream cross bars, baseline towers, and the appropriate pads and clips.
The Yakima product came with thorough and easy to understand instructions. I was able to get the track installed and working in about an hour - and that was taking it slow and double checking everything. I was very pleased with the fit and finish.
After a test run, there was no wind noise or issue with the rack. Looking forward to taking a road trip next month with it!
Worked great! By mounting the tracks directly to the rails of my Tonneau Switchback retractable bed cover on this short bed F150 I was able to put a bike rack system using existing Yakima towers and bars. The bike rack can be moved to other Yakima systems and locations easily.
It seems like the package arrived before I ordered it. I was amazed how fast it came. Everything was there and installation instructions were complete. Excellent product, well built with a reasonable price. Don't be afraid to do it yourself.

I'm a bit disappointed in the construction of these Yakima Tracks. I previously purchased and installed on a couple of truck bed caps and they were aluminum extrusions. These are formed sheet metal with a plastic base. I used them but am not a fan of the materials now used...
