What Tracks and Crossbars do You Recommend for My 2009 Volkswagen Routan with a Naked Roof?

Thank you for all your research. I am getting ready to order. Do you have the Yakima Y8810135 Snap Around Mounting Brackets? And Yakima Y01135 60" Tracks? I want to combine them with the: Yakima Landing Pads Y00221 Yakima Control Tower for Roundbars Y8890027 I have my own Yakima Roundbars.

We do have an option that will allow you to mount long crossbars on your roof with tracks. This application requires drilling. For that setup, I recommend the following parts:

- Yakima 42" Tracks for Roof Racks # Y01126
- x4 of the Yakima Control Towers # Y8890027
- x2 of the Landing Pad 1 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers # Y00221
- Round 58" CrossBars for Yakima Roof Rack System # Y00409

The Yakima RoundBar setup is compatible with most Thule cargo boxes and other branded cargo baskets. This is because the Yakima round bars only measure 1-1/8" in diameter. With the 58-inch crossbars, you gain plenty of space to mount your accessories.

As far as the kayak carrier, I recommend the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style or Post Style # Y04073. The JayLow already comes with straps to mount a single kayak. Also, it comes with high quality padded bases and arms to cushion your kayak and protect the hull from scuffs and scratches. For theft-deterrence, I recommend the Yakima Same-Key Lock Cores # Y07206 to have the JayLow cradles and the Control Towers keyed alike.

Do you have flat bars for my basket? I purchased it about 20 years ago and have been using it ever since. Its compact size works well for our needs. I just purchased the vW Routan with a naked roof that I would like to install it on. Just to be clear on the tracks hopefully they don't require inside nuts as the headliner in the Routan can't be removed for installation.

The Yakima 42" Tracks for Roof Racks # Y01126 do not require drilling through the liner inside of your Routan. I went ahead and attached the drilling instructions from the manual. If you would rather have flat aero-style crossbars for your tracks instead of the Yakima RoundBars, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Factory Tracks - 2 Vortex Aero Crossbars - Black - 54" Long # Y02-480B-NT along with the tracks. The feet included on these Vortex Aero crossbars will fit the Yakima track system. We also carry the 59" inch long crossbar version as # Y02-490B-NT.

Yes! We do carry the Yakima SnapAround Mounting Brackets (SNARs) - Round and Square # Y8810135 and the Yakima 60" Tracks for Roof Racks # Y01135. However, it is important to note that the SnapAround brackets are made specifically for specific models of Yakima bike and boat carriers. I went ahead and attached a screenshot of all compatible accessories. With your Yakima RoundBars, you will be able to the crossbars with the Landing Pad 1 # Y00221 and the control towers # Y8890027.
