Question:

Looking for recommendations for a versatile roof rack system on an 8 foot A.R.E. truck cap. Would be using for two kayaks primarily but would like to use it for other various cargo.

Since the A.R.E. camper shells have tracks mounted on top of them you can use a Yakima round bar roof rack which will require 4 of the Yakima Control Towers # Y8890027, 2 sets of the Yakima Landing Pad # Y00221, and one set of Yakima Crossbars. For 58 inch bars you can use # Y00409, for 66 in bars use # Y00410, or for 78 inch bars you can use # Y00411. Also keep in mind that the bars can be cut to fit your exact need.

The rails on this camper shell are made by Yakima, so this will give you everything you need and will work perfectly to provide you with a sturdy roof rack.

Then for kayak carriers you could use the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier part # Y04073 which is padded and can fold down when not in use.

Sorry about that! Instead the best option is the Thule TracRac CapRac part # TH29200XT.
