These Yakima RoundBars form the backbone of a solid roof rack setup. Made from galvanized steel with a black vinyl coating, they’re built to resist corrosion and handle rugged use. Each bar measures 48" long x 1-1/8" in diameter, giving you a dependable base for hauling up to 165 lbs when used within your vehicle’s roof load limits. Whether it's kayaks, canoes, or cargo boxes, these bars stay sturdy on every trip.
This kit includes everything you need to get rolling—2 RoundBars, 4 BaseLine towers, 4 adapters, and a custom fit kit. Each part works together for a clean installation on a naked roof. No factory rails required, just a precise fit that keeps your gear stable and secure mile after mile.
The black vinyl coating isn’t just for looks—it’s there to shield the steel underneath from rust and wear. That means your rack keeps its strength even after years of exposure to rain, road grime, or salty air. The finish also helps prevent scratches from clamps and mounted accessories.
Yakima’s Same Key System (SKS) lock cores are sold separately but designed to drop right in. Once added, they keep the rack secured to your roof so you can leave your setup in place without worrying about theft when you’re out on the water or settled at camp.

etrailer installation videos were very helpful in selecting the product and first installation, although in practice, minor adjustments to method were required. Now after more than a dozen set ups, mounting the crossbars takes 15 minutes, and taking them off, 10. The system is well made, and when mounted, precise, strong, and reliable. Expensive perhaps compared to alternatives, but well worth the money. Used to carry a 50# sailboard 40 miles to the beach on weekends. ('11 Honda Fit)
One minor shortcoming: rubber sheet glued to base clips where they touch the car body have torn and moved sideways 1/16", but expect will be easily replaced with readily available 1/16" sheet rubber (e.g., shower pan liner) when the time comes.
Used in rain at least once, (sustained 60mph), with no leaks.

Bought as a pkg for my 2017 Golf R with Round Bars since I had a bunch of Yakima bike racks and a canoe gunwale rack for my old Yakima set up. Installation was easy with good instructions. All measurements from the Yakima site appear to be spot on.

The Yakima roof rack system is an Outstanding product. I purchased the product to replace the OEM roof rack because it was too flimsy to carry the tandem bike mount and my bike. The Yakima roof rack is solid and provides me the peace of mind while hauling my bike on the roof of my car. etrailer provided the product for the best price as always.
Have been rocking my Yakima rack from etrailer.com for a year now. I am using rack in conjunction with a Tepui tent. Once I added the air deflector, I would say it's the perfect setup. The Yakima gives more clearance over the factory rack, so I was able to get my hands under it to secure the tent hardware. If you're thinking of upgrading your factory rack, I would not hesitate to use etrailer.com
Roof Rack 2008 Saturn Astra The roof rack arrived one day early...The packaging was excellent and the quality of the product more than met my expectations. The instructions made the insulation very easy. It took less than 45 minutes to install the unit complete.
The installation of this rack system went very well, all of the instructions were easy to read and use. I have attached some pictures of our installation. The vehicle is a 1994 Honda Accord EX four door sedan
Solid and easy to instal
I've attachec a few pictures of the Yakima rack on my Audi Q7. It took a few attempts to find the right combination of attachments, but in the end, the pin attachments work best with the access points on the factory flush-mount rails. Great product!!!!!
These convertors will allow me to continue to use my hullavator system currently on round bars. The drop in feature of skyline towers makes the whole change out a snap. Certainly better than buying a whole new hullavator.
Great rack, go on fast, easy to install and work well on my VW TDI wagon. Care has to be given and follow the instructions for the install to what type of rails you have. Works great carrying the VW luggage carrier and plan on using it to carry kayaks as well. Just have not decided what kayak rack type to get yet.
I ordered the Yakima roof rack, with the Hullyrollers for the back crossbar and the Mako saddles for the front crossbar to use with my kayak. It arrived just like they told me and I put them on my car the eveningit arrived. Got to finlly use the roof rack on June 22 to go out kayaking and it worked great. Only thing is I did not know about the air reflector piece for the front crossbar. Now I will be ordering it to help with the wind noise.

Products great. Service and delivery from you company was not acceptable. when I placed my order you missed your delivery date by five days. Not sure how this happened, but requested help was not available.
I was able to use these clips to mount a roof rack and roof box on my Audi that had a naked roof, and they did the job! I took it on a 1,200 mile road trip and after I returned there wasn’t any damage to the paint, and even though there are rubber inserts on the inside of the clip to prevent scratches I was still a bit surprised.
If you don’t have roof rails on your car, these definitely help!

A bit disappointed that Yakima towers do not have a height adjustment so I can make both round crossbars level to keep my canoes from catching too much air on the highway. My vehicles roof flush rails are are curved vertically and change widths front to back. Had to Mickey Mouse the back crossbar to make it higher with PVC brick moulding.
Also the tower covers with the Yakima label don't clip on strongly enough so I had to add duct tape because I did not trust them to stay on.
