Question:

I have a 2003 Toyota Camry, a 2009 Honda Fit, and a 2015 Nissan Sentra. I am looking for a roof rack that will fit all three.

Expert Reply:

Though I strongly recommend buying an individual rack for each vehicle, you can build a modular Yakima kit for your three vehicles. I'm recommending Yakima because their crossbars have a full channel on the underside of the bar, letting them be fit to multiple vehicles without needing separate bars. The Toyota Camry requires the longest bar, so you'll fit this bar to the other vehicles.

To do this, you'll need the following parts for all three vehicles:

Yakima JetStream bar, 60 inches, part # Y00422
BaseLine Towers, part # Y28TR

For each individual vehicle, you'll need their correct fit kits.

For the 2003 Toyota Camry:
Fit Kit Front: part # Y06121
Fit Kit Back: part # Y06144

For the 2015 Nissan Sentra
Fit Front: part # Y06123
Fit Back: part # Y06170

For the 2009 Honda Fit:
Fit Kit: part # Y06143

When you switch the rack between vehicles, you'll need to swap the foot kits on the bars and remeasure and install the rack.

If you want to step down to only swapping between the Nissan Sentra and the Honda Fit, you'll want to get a 50 inch crossbar set, part # Y00425. You will also need a separate set of the BaseLine Towers, part # Y28TR in this case.
