Inno Multi Cradle Kayak Carrier dimensions

Inno Multi Cradle Kayak Carrier on truck

The Inno Multi Cradle kayak carrier transports 1 sit-on-top or other heavy kayak hull side up on your vehicle's roof rack. The saddles are easy to load from the side of your vehicle, and they have soft rubber padding to protect your kayak during transport. Two tie-down straps are included to secure your boat to your crossbars, and the saddles install without tools.

Easy Side Loading

The saddle-style cradles are easy to load from the side of your vehicle. Simply lift your kayak up and onto the roof and slide it into place hull side up. The cradles can be adjusted along your crossbars to ensure the kayak is resting flat on the saddle base pads. Loading your kayak hull side up helps to keep it balanced and reduces wind drag during transport.

Two 13' long straps are included to secure your kayak to your crossbars. Just loop the straps around your crossbars and your kayak and pull them tight with the cam buckles. The buckles have pads to protect your kayak's hull from scratches and abrasions. Bow/stern tie-downs (sold separately) are recommended to anchor the kayak to your vehicle's front and rear bumper.

Simple Installation

The carrier installs quickly and easily with hand knobs, bolts, and brackets - no tools required. Place the cradles on top of your crossbars, hold the lower plates in position under the cradles, and thread the bolts through the cradles and the plates. Adjust the cradles until your kayak is stable, then tighten the knobs until the lower plates are parallel to the cradles.

Decent tie-downs but a bit of work to tie everything down and get the kayak settled, especially with a heavier kayak around 50 pounds and 12 feet long. The rubber pads do their job a little too well in that case!

I purchased a car rack system as well as the kayak carrier and it arrived in only two days! It was easy to put on and fits my 2013 Hyundai Tucson Limited perfectly. I picked up my new kayak the next day and mad it home with no issue what so ever. I am very satisfied with this product.

Son uses them to transport his kayak, and they work great.

  • Do the Cradles Move Freely when Kayak/SUP is Not Mounted on the Rhino-Rack # RR570?
The center hinge pin on the Rhino-Rack Nautic SUP or Kayak Carrier # RR570 allows the cradle to move freely when a kayak or SUP is not installed. For this reason, there can be some movement of the cradles when not carrying a watercraft. In order to absolutely avoid this, you can remove the cradles when not in use. The movement of the cradles is shown in the attached video at timestamp 5:25. If you plan to leave your cradles installed with no kayak or SUP, I recommend using a different...

  • Recommendations for a Roof Rack and Accessories on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a solution for your roof rack carrying needs whichever season it may be. First lets start with the rack that will custom fit your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since you have the flush roof rails that run front to back I recommend the Inno Roof Rack # INTR, # INB127, and the custom fit kit # INTR132 to complete your rack setup. These parts will give you the bars, mounts, and fit kit to attach everything to your vehicles roof. According to Inno this product should be used on vehicles...

  • Recommended Kayak Carriers For A 2016 Ford Fusion With An Inno Roof Rack
Hi Alec, The Inno Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # INA452 needs a 28" minimum spread so that the saddles sit at the right spot for the kayak and support the weight properly. This is probably just a general guide from Inno though because the length and design of the kayak could vary greatly. I personally would stick their rules though just incase you have a failure so you can warranty it out. When you're measuring your crossbar spread are you measuring from the center of one crossbar to...

  • Inno Square Bar Roof Rack for 2003 Mercury Mountaineer
In order to get the longer bars, you'd order the parts separately. You'd need the roof rack feet, part # INFR and the # INB147. There won't be a cost difference by ordering the feet and crossbars separately. You might also be interested in a fairing like # INA260 would make the rack more aerodynamic, reducing the wind noise. I've linked you to some product description videos for some of the parts I mentioned.
