The roof setup is important in determining if you can fully open the rear hatch of your 2021 Nissan Rogue with the box mounted.

With that being said, you will have enough length for the Thule Motion XT XL # TH629806 to fully open the rear hatch on your vehicle with any whether you have a bare roof, raised rails, or a factory roof rack. However, depending on if you have crossbars installed, I recommend you measure the height and width of your crossbars. As long as your crossbars do not exceed 3-1/2 inches wide x 1-11/16 inches tall, the box will be able to clamp around the bars.

If you are considering the Thule Motion XT XXL # TH629906, while it also fits crossbars up to 3-1/2 inches wide x 1-11/16 inches tall, you are limited with roof length depending on what roof style you have.

Thanks Bob. My roof is naked. Also I noticed you dont carry Thule roof racks. I was looking at Thule wingbar evo. If you dont carry those, will yakima jetstream work with my Thule motion xt xl?

Also, I went ahead and looked up the roof length for your Rogue, and you do have enough space to mount the Thule Motion XT XXL # TH629906 and fully open your trunk with the box installed. Of course, you also have enough room to open the trunk with the Thule XT XL # TH629806. If you are ultimately looking for more cubic footage of space, the XXL is the right fit for you. It still retains the sleek design, and it will still have a stylish look on your roof. Since most of the difference in the exterior dimensions are in the length of the box, you will not see a huge bulky difference between the two models. As far as a Thule roof rack, you are absolutely correct that Thule does not yet have an engineered fitment of a WingBar Evo model that works with your bare roof. However, with the Yakima JetStream, those crossbars have virtually the exact same design as the WingBar Evos. They also have the exact same 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall dimensions.
