Updated 01/20/2026 | Published 08/02/2024

Question:

I have yakima jetstream cross bars that I need to attach to a 2017 Honda cr-v. My crv does not have any rails. I would like to get the most low profile towers that can work with jetstream cross bars does not need to be yakima brand. I would prefer a tower that mounts to the factory mounting points on the roof. Please share options.

Hello Zeke,

So we can get your 2017 Honda CR-V set up to mount Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00425, though there aren't actually different options for this. Reason for that is you can't mix and match different manufacturers parts because they won't fit together. That means to put the JetStream crossbars on the bare roof of your 2017 Honda CR-V you would have to use the following parts:

- BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Naked Roofs # Y28TR

- BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06188

- BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06189

Hey Zeke, how did the setup with the BaseLine towers and BaseClip kits work out on your CR‑V’s bare roof? Knowing how the fit turned out could help others trying to mount JetStream crossbars the same way.

@GwendolynY Everything worked well. The manufactures recommended locations for mounting were slightly off. I moved the front cross bar forward to achieve a very slight downward attitude of the box which significantly reduced road noise.

@ZekeF That's actually a pretty good tip. Most people would go for some type of wind fairing attachment but this is better in my opinion.
