Can I Mount the Side Loader Mounting Brackets item # Y08002 on a Vertical Surface?

I see a video of Y08002 being mounted on a gently angled truck topper. Could the Y08002 alternatively be mounted on near the top edge of a directly vertical surface and still let the traditional Yakima tower hold that bracket? Id like to mount the Y08002 near the top of the the vertical sides of an open wood sided trailer.

Yes, they can Eric. The Side Loader Mounting Brackets item # Y08002 are designed to recreate rain gutters like you see on cargo vans. They do not require a specific angle to be functional. What you will want to look at is where you can mount them, and how far apart you need them to mount various items like bike racks, canoes, kayaks, cargo boxes, baskets or any other accessory. These are sold as a pair.
