I left the end caps off and the rust issue I had with previous bars is no longer a problem since water is not trapped in the bars.

Still working great and as expected. My only complaint would be on the cleat that has the rubberfoam pad on it. I would put a Rhino lining type material instead to prevent them from coming off so easily.
