Bulky controllers can clutter the dash and hit your knees, but this one stays completely out of sight. The main unit—just 3-3/8" long x 3" wide x 7/8" thick—mounts under the dash with an adhesive pad or zip ties. Only your smartphone is visible for control, keeping your interior clean and clear. The internal 3-axis accelerometer senses direction at any angle, so it works smoothly no matter how you mount it.
Hardwiring isn’t needed thanks to the included custom-fit harness. It plugs directly into the factory port under the dash and connects straight to the Echo unit. Pair your phone via Bluetooth in about five seconds, plug in the trailer’s 7-way connector, and calibration finishes automatically. When the LED turns green, you’re ready to tow.
The internal accelerometer measures how quickly your tow vehicle slows down and sends matching power to the trailer brakes. Whether tapping lightly or braking hard, everything stays in sync. The proportional system works with trailers up to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and supports electric trailer brakes for consistent, even stops.
Instead of knobs or screens, you run it all through the OneControl app on your smart device (Apple 5.0 or newer, Android 4.3 or newer). Set max output, adjust sensitivity, and hit manual override right from your screen. The outer ring shows real-time brake output while you drive. You can even store multiple trailer profiles so your favorite settings are ready each time you hook up.
If Bluetooth ever disconnects, braking continues using the most recent settings—so safety isn’t interrupted. LED indicators on the unit make troubleshooting simple, while reverse polarity and short circuit protection guard against wiring faults. With its limited lifetime warranty on the controller and 1-year warranty on the harness, it’s built for reliable towing trip after trip.

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?
