Question:
What wire harness do I need
asked by: Joe
Expert Reply:
To install the Curt Venturer part # C74VV in your 2013 Ram 1500 the correct install harness WOULD be the part # C51453 BUT your vehicle can't have this style of time delayed controller due to the the wiring of your vehicle. So you'd have to go with a proportional controller like the TriFlex part # C24VV.
The 2013 Ram 1500 has "Powernet" and utilizes multiplex wiring that is different from previous models. Although the brake control connector is physically the same as the 2010-2012, the wire functions have changed. The terminal that used to be the stop light signal now has battery voltage whenever the ignition is in the run position.
