Video Transcript for Optronics Trailer Lights - Tail Lights - TLL28RK Review

Today we're going to be reviewing part number TLL28RK. This is the Micro-Flex LED Taillight set. You're going to get your red driver's and passenger's side lights that are going to serve six functions for trailers less than 80 inches wide, such as your stop, turn, tail, rear reflex, side marker, and side reflex lights. The driver's side is also going to feature a 5-diode license plate illuminator here on the bottom of the housing. It's going to use Micro-Flex technology that's going to increase your light output using 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs. This unit's going to have a contemporary appearance but it's going to maintain the traditional footprint. Now the long-lasting LEDs are going to be great replacement for incandescent lights.

They feature a multi-diode design that's going to optimize your light output, and you don't have to worry about replacing any bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. They're going to feature a waterproof, corrosion-resistant molded plastic housing. Here on the backside you're going to see that each light is going to expose three wires. So you're going to have your ground, you're going to have your taillight, and you're going to have the wire for the stop and turn signal as well. These are Department of Transportation compliant, so they meet FMVSS108 requirements in any 360-degree position. It's a nice square shape.

If we take a look at the overall dimensions, it's going to give us a width of 5-1/4. That is measuring the side marker. It's going to give us a height of right at 5-inches, and then a depth of about 2-5/8 of an inch. Each light is going to contain 15-diodes and then you're going to have 5 additional diodes on the left-hand light for the license plate illuminator. When it comes to power draw, the passenger side light is going to be 0.174 and 0.114 amps at 12.8 volts and then the driver's side light is going to be 0.174 and 0.161 amps at 12.8 volts. When it comes to installing this kit, it is a stud mount installation on the side of the trailer with two studs on 2-inch centers.

Each light here on the back is going to have a little tracking area. That way you can slide the bolts in there or the studs and you can get them in the correct location. Now again, the separation, center-on-center, the distance between those two tracking systems where the studs are going to go, is going to be 2-inches. Now you are going to get the stainless steel mounting hardware. Everything that you need is in this little bag here and so that is included with the kit. We're going to go and hook this up to our external power source and show you what it looks like with power running to it and with our overhead lights turned off.

I'm going to go ahead and try to hook both lights up at the same time. The brown wires are going to be your taillight function. That's basically just going to provide the power to the taillight. That's also known as the power lead, so we'll connect that and then your yellow and green wires are going to be for your stop and turn signals. So we'll go ahead and get those ready and connect those. We'll double check and make sure that our grounds are connected. Once we have everything wired up, you can see here that it's going to send out a nice consistent LED signal. Then the driver's side light is going to contain those 5-diodes for the license plate illuminator. Now again, it is going to serve as your stop signal, so we'll go ahead and apply our brakes. You can see how everything illuminates for brighter light output. It's going to do the same thing when we activate our turn signals as well. Then you have the lights there on the side. That's going to do it for today's review of part number TLL28RK. This is the Micro-Flex LED Tail Light Set from Optronics. .

Excellent product. Working very well after one year of rough service. . 568206

These are a perfect upgrade on my jet ski trailer which was constantly burning bulbs maybe because the lights were not watertight. No amount of dielectric grease prevented it. These were easy to install. They are watertight and are twice as bright as the old ones. Great customer service! I highly recommend the lights and etrailer.com! 382733

They are still working well and could not be happier. They are bright and a perfect upgrade. I had the marker lights go out briefly but only due to a dirty ground. Other than that, perfection! Thanks for following up! That’s ideal customer service.

Super fast shipping! Ordered on Saturday with etrailer's free shipping option and received my order on Tuesday. Thanks! The lights appear to be of high quality. Comes with all necessary hardware, but I used butt connectors instead of the supplied come shaped connectors. Lights are MUCH brighter than the halogen models they replaced; both tail and brake/turn. You could barely see the old taillights in the day time, these are far superior! 316069

These lights are easy to install and they look great! 560053

My son-in-law has been using my utility trailer a LOT - and he's been having LOTS of problems! First one of the springs snapped; we found replacements & had it back up & running the same day. Then he had a blowout; he found 2 new tires & had it back hauling the next day. Then he asked if he could install the new lights I bought from etrailer; I said yes, so he & my other son-in-law installed the new wiring & lights for me. He brought it back & I asked him to test them for me. I asked that he first turn on the parking lights, so he hopped up in the truck & turned them on. I asked him to take his foot off the brake because they were so bright, I thought I was seeing brake lights - but he jumped out & told me he wasn't pushing on the brakes! Just the parking lights alone were brighter than the old lights. When he finally did show me the stop/turn signals, I couldn't believe how bright they were! Believe me - you NEED these trailer lights! They are the best, by far! 466009

Fantastic! These are the best lights youll ever find for your trailer. I still cant believe how bright they are.

These are perfect for my hard used-utility trailer. I haul a huge amount of firewood, gravel, top soil, lawn mowers, and rocks and the old tail light bulbs were constantly burning out. The new LED lights were super- easy to install, fit perfectly, and are much brighter than the old. I wish I would have installed these lights years ago. Highly recommended! 569978

lights are awesome & extremely bright ! I no longer worry about being rear-ended or bad bulbs. 80735

Lights are great! after a year I just pug in the trailer and go. No more worrying if filament bulbs are going to work and a trip to the parts store.

Needed to rewire my boat trailer and ordered all the necessities to do so. I upgraded to LED lights and an wishbone harness. e-trailer was the place to get everything in one stop as their selection is extensive. I can't say how pleased I am with their quick shipping and follow-up e-mails. Great products with helpful videos and notes. Thank You e-trailer! I will continue to shop with you for upcoming repairs and upgrades. No need to look anywhere else! Larry. 207344

Product is good and as advertised 775265

Led lights are a great upgrade, the amp draw is minimal plus much brighter for visibility. Waterproof if you must get you trailer in water 773050

Lights fit perfectly and very easy to wire up. The work great! 772296

This trailer light works perfect I would recommend these light for anyone needing bright lights at low cost. etrailer.com has a lot of great products and at lower cost than in the stores also fast shipping 770751

Etrailer is always on top of it. Shipments are always done in a timely manner and if you do have any problems they respond very quickly. Great customer service!!!! 765029

Good quality product, delivery was fast, web site was easy to use. Will use the tail lights to upgrade my old 1999 1 ton Ford dump truck tail lights. Like the fact they have a lifetime warrantee and do not require bulb replacements . 762062

Great product - my old lights were not working, and these are much brighter, and look very professional. I'll only go with LED in the future. Thanks etrailer! 756421

etrailer is great as always. They are my sole source for everything trailer and I have never had a complaint against them. This product on the other hand, horrible. They apparently have no quality control and make a crap product. When I received it, I took out the two screws holding the lid closed, to charge the battery before installing it on my trailer. When I went to open the lid, the first thing I noticed was the hinge on the lid was broken in two of three places holding the hinge to the lid. (see attached pictures) I immediately contacted etrailer and they sent me a replacement, like I said before they are great. So I just received the replacement, I gently opened the box and the first thing I did was check the hinge. Wanna guess? Yep it was broken in two of the three places as well. The product packaging was in excellent shape, the shipping boxes were in great shape for both, there are no signs of shipping damage. So this is a lid that is supposed to be mounted to a trailer and survive the elements for years and it can't even make it to the consumer without damage. NO I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. 745574

Perfect replacement.. 744678

Fast service and the product was just what I needed. Highly recommend this company and will buy from then again. 738489

I have not installed the trailer lights yet, look to be of good quality. 737661

Dear Etrailer guys, Finally a waterproof set of led taillights! All parts arrived on promised date in Perfect condition. Due to a bad cold, I have to wait to install them. Not feeling well. However, looks like Saturday 1/11/20 will be installation day. Have gone thru annual repairs of these bulb style rear lights too long. 736446

They work great just ran some wire and hooked it all up, was simple to do. I’m pretty happy with the end outcome. 734011

these tail lights are nice on my trailer. would recommend them to anyone who wants their trailer to be seen day or night. they are really bright. also the price is right 729532

Excellent quality 721629

The lights that I had before had an extended side lens and broke off constantly. The new lights required some bracket modifications to mount, but the product is superior! Very reliable, and bright! 721215
