These are a perfect upgrade on my jet ski trailer which was constantly burning bulbs maybe because the lights were not watertight. No amount of dielectric grease prevented it. These were easy to install. They are watertight and are twice as bright as the old ones. Great customer service! I highly recommend the lights and etrailer.com! 382733

Comments
They are still working well and could not be happier. They are bright and a perfect upgrade. I had the marker lights go out briefly but only due to a dirty ground. Other than that, perfection! Thanks for following up! That’s ideal customer service.

Better quality than you can pick up at your local box store. Same installation as any LED trailer light kits but they just seem built a bit more sturdy than average. Also seem to be considerably brighter than LED kits I have installed on my other trailers. Good value. 932246

I don’t know why I waited so long to buy these. Every time I used the trailer I had to mess with the (incandescent) lights. It comes down to convenience and safety. These LED’s are easy to install (30-45 minutes) and they work every time. The brightness makes them much safer especially at night. If you’re on the fence, just buy them. You’ll know you made the right decision the first time you use them. 913338

  • Lights for a 7 Foot x 10 Foot Cargo Trailer
It is imperative you check your local laws for lighting requirements in regards to your specific trailer, though I can tell you you no matter what you'll need stop lights, tail lights, turn signals and reflectors. There are other factors, including your trailer's GVWR that you need to take into consideration; I have added a link to a help article on trailer lighting requirements which I highly recommend checking out. That said, a 7' wide x 10' long cargo trailer is almost certain to...

  • Replacement Tail Lights on Malone Microsport XL Kayak Trailer
Yes. The tail lights on the Malone Microsport trailers like the # MPG460XT are submersible. You can use the # TLL28RK to replace these lights with another submersible light or go with a completely sealed and waterproof light set with the # TLL9RK. I do recommend going with the # TLL9RK waterproof lights just because of the added protection and durability you get with this application. I've linked an installation video of these lights for you to have a look at, as well.

  • Wiring When Converting to LED Lights
LED lights do not necessarily have three wires, they will have wires based on their function on the trailer. For example, the Miro-Flex LED # TLL28RK has three wires because they have three functions, so the white wire will be for ground, brown wire will be for tail lights, and the remaining wire will be for stop/turn lights. The Optronics # AL82AB act as clearance lights, so they have just two wires, a ground wire and lead wire. I've added a link to install videos of both lights for...

  • Difference Between Trailer Lights with Wired Ground vs. Mounting Stud Ground
The difference between your old and new boat trailer lights is likely that the old ones used their mounting hardware to make the ground connection to the trailer frame while the new ones use a wired ground. For example, lighting kit # TLL36RK uses a wired ground, the white wire with ring terminal, that connects to the trailer frame. Light kit # TL5RK on the other hand uses its two mounting studs to make the ground connection to the frame. Since I do not know which specific new lights...

  • Is Surge Protection Needed When Changing From Incandescent to LED Lights?
There is no need for any type of surge protection when making the switch to LED lights from incandescent. LED trailer lights, such as the Miro-Flex Tail Lights, # TLL28RK, are commonly being used to replace the less efficient incandescent lights. The only issue you may encounter is hyperflashing - the rapid blinking of turn signals - which is possible because LED lights only draw about one-tenth the power of incandescent lights, causing your vehicle to react as if the light has burned...

  • Installing LED Trailer Light with Black, Red, and Green Wires
Typically with an LED light that has a black, red, and green wire the black wire is for ground, the red wire is for the turn/brake light circuit, and the green wire will go to the running lights circuit on the trailer. If you can tell me what model LED lights you purchased I will be happy to verify this for you.

Trailer tail lights # TLL28RK would be brighter than # TLL9RK but you probably would not be able to tell the difference with the naked eye. And both of them will be brighter than regular incandescent bulbs. But generally speaking the more diodes there are in an LED light the more light it produces and the brighter it will be.

Trailers that are 80 inches wide or wider, or that are longer than 30 feet, will need additional lights and reflectors. • Troubleshooting Trailer Lights Going Out and Vehicle Fuse Blowing After Launching Boat
Since the issue you are describing is only happening after launching your boat, the cause certainly seems to be related somehow to the wiring and lights being exposed to water.
