Features to know about

Save Time with a Pre-Greased Assembly: Ready to Go Out of the Box

This Dexter hub comes pre-greased and ready to install, so there’s no need to pack bearings by hand. It’s built for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube axles with #84 spindles and includes everything you need—inner bearing (L68149), outer bearing (L44649), races, grease seal, grease caps, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. Just slide it on, torque the 1/2" studs, and you’re done. Each hub has a 1,750-lb weight capacity and fits 13" to 15" wheels.

Simplify Bearing Maintenance: E-Z Lube Cap Access

Greasing bearings doesn’t have to be a chore. The included E-Z Lube grease cap lets you use your spindle’s zerk fitting to push fresh grease directly to both bearings. No messy disassembly or repacking—just connect your grease gun and keep rolling smoothly.

Everything You Need in One Kit: Complete Hub Assembly

No more parts hunting or mismatched components. This kit includes both E-Z Lube and standard grease caps plus all the hardware—lug nuts, bearings, races, and seal—so installation is straightforward. It’s a full replacement hub designed for idler axles on 3,500-lb setups.

Built for Long-Term Reliability: Sturdy Iron Construction

Durability matters when you’re towing in all kinds of conditions. The solid iron build of this Dexter hub holds up to steady use on the road or at the ramp. With precision races already pressed in and a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, it’s made for consistent performance and a smooth-running fit that lasts.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Shipping took and extra business day, but that's ok. The hubs fit great on trailer. I've order many times and have been satisfied each time.
by:
I wasn't replacing hubs but rather installing them on new axles (Timbren Axle-less system also purchased here). It was convenient to get the hubs here as I was also purchasing the Timbren system so I knew the setup would work together.

Being a novice at working on trailers, these hubs installed without a problem using the instructions provided. I had read several articles on problems with new hubs and the key comments I heard echoed was to be generous with greasing the bearings. It's been a year and I only have about 500 miles on the hubs but everything still sounds good.

I use the trailer for pulling my motorcycle so the load has been roughly 1200 pounds. The tires are ST145-R12 trailer tires.

The hubs are still sound after a year of occasional use. The configuration has worked well for me and still pleased with the results of the products Im using.

Kit came with everything. Perfect fit. No issues or problems noted during the past year. Last November towed my 3500 lb boat/trailer package from Savannah GA to Port Charlotte FL and return at speeds up to 65 mph in addition to all the local miles racked up during the year -- all with no issues or problems.

So far so good ! Ive towed my boat wtrailer from Savannah to Port Charlotte Florida and return and many local trips with no incident.

by:
Everything came shipped quick and on time. The parts were everything I needed and install was a breeze as I am new to this. I would definitely order again if needed and I would definitely oder from etrailer again.
by:
Got as overnight as I needed it asap. Fit perfect using the tang style retainer. Only issue I found was the silicate packet was open and spilled gritty silicate all over, so had to clean that mess out of the grease
by:
I was in need of a set of hubs to go on a small enclosed trailer, time was of the essence and from the time I purchased the hubs they were delivered to my door step not even two full days later. For FREE. Which if you order parts for anything you know that’s insane !!!!!!! The hubs seem like great quality, they went on with zero issue. There was even included parts to use either a castle nut or a tab style washer, plus lug nuts ! And I have faith they’ll make the 3700 mile trip I have coming up. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

by:
Quick shipping. The pieces appear to be of good quality. The welds looked solid. I haven’t put it on yet but it appears to be a straight forward installation. It’s going on a single axle trailer.
by:
OEM replacement worked perfect.
by:
These have held up for 30k miles so far and still perform like new. Serviced in 10k increments. Overlanding trailer weighs 1360 lbs empty 2k fully loaded.
by:
Unlike other 3500 lb idler hub, this one does not come pre assembled. Glad I had bought the grease as well! Easy to install thanks to excellent videos.
by:
for my trailer and everything went smooth. Very satisfied with the results of service and product. I recommend ETrailer to anyone and everyone needing good service and parts.
by:
Great product, everything fit like original! Very easy to R & R.

They are working great. Thank You.

Great product.

Very easy to install l.
by:
Another excellent experience with etrailer, and with this part. I realized I had a damaged hub when repacking my bearings, and ordered this, paying a small fee for 2-day delivery. It arrived in 2 days, to rural Colorado, and I can't normally get anything that fast here in the mountains. The kit has all options for installation as well as the hub. It has both the standard and ez-lube grease caps, as well as both the clip type and cotter key type nut retainers. Even got a set of lug nuts I'll put in my tool box as spares. Great service, and a great part.
by:
Product was perfectly packaged. Loved the ease of installation as was pre-greased.
by:
Delivered what I ordered as promised. Very easy to install. I did watch the tutorial video before starting was easy to comprehend.
by:
I couldn’t find parts for my customers boat trailer . Nobody had a complete trailer axle . So I finally found etrailer they answered the phone I had all my measurements they took the time to search out what I was asking for . Awsome sales lady she knew what I wanted and found all my parts so I can replace the spindle on the axle
Nice to talk to a person instead of a answering machine
Thanks for your help
by:
I had a broken hub on a 21' pontoon trailer, so I went ahead and replaced both hubs on a #84 spindle with these. They appear to be good quality but I have yet to see how they perform on the road. They assembled and were mounted easily. The only issue I had was one of the grease seals was slightly bent and I had to bend it back into shape, otherwise no problem. One other thing, I don't believe you will be able to beat the speed of shipping from etrailer, and that's a very big deal with me. I will definitely use these folks again.

I just recieved mine, and the grease seals were also bent, I also had a lug stud that was buggered up pretty good on the end. I had to get the trailer back into service so itll be another day of knocking out the stud and putting in a new one. In general, looks to be good quality but I wish theyd pack the items better to avoid this type of problem.

Thanks for your feedback. You should be hearing from one our customer service representatives about your order soon.
by:
Great service. I first only received one of two hubs ordered and emailed about the issue. I got a quick response that the other was arriving the following day in a separate shipment. Parts were correct and in perfect condition.
by:
Fast delivery and the product was exactly as described. Have used etrailer several times and have always had great service and products.
by:
Customer Service helped me determine the best hub for my trailer - very knowledgeable folks at etrailer !!!

The parts were received VERY quickly - etrailer always does great with order fulfillment - and were of high quality. The hubs, bearings and hardware were all "correct" and installed easily on my Load-Rite boat trailer. One EZ-LUBE dust cap was received with minor damage (bent). I straightened it to allow immediate installation, and etrailer quickly responded to my request for a replacement - it arrived within days and didn't affect my overall project. But please note that a lot of reviews for hubs will mention damaged components (grease seals being most common) and so I'd recommend waiting for the parts to arrive BEFORE starting a hub rebuild... just in case you get a damaged part, too. And if you do - know that etrailer will stand behind their product and get you a replacement very quickly.

Also, if you have EZ-LUBE hubs like me - remember that you need to spin the hub while pumping in the new grease. Otherwise it just blocks up and will not fill the hub and bearing properly.

Good afternoon from Seabeck Washington!

Your customer service is awesome, this was all due in to Darren and I will be back!

I have attached some pics of my application. the spindle was used for an old military trailer, the steering axel is different, as it is not a typical steer axle and is able to rotate 360 degrees. it pivots on a axel spindle and it was sheared off at the base just above the seal area.
so i had to cut it out and do a re-install with your replacement and it was a perfect match.

Thank you guys again!
by:
Product was a perfect replacement for the old sets that had failed. Packaging was poor, and wheel studs were dinged up because of it.

  • Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System Compatibility with Aluminum I-Beam Trailer Frame
The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02 is compatible with I-beam frames and in tandem axle configuration. Due to the Aluminum frame, I recommend putting a thin rubber pad between the steel mount and the aluminum I-beam. The powder coat on the steel should keep the two dissimilar metals from galvanic corrosion, but a thin rubber pad would drastically increase this safety. Zinc plated hardware will work well with...

I'll start off by saying that wheels and tires do not come with hubs, and what hubs you'll be able to use depend on the spindles on the axles, and whether or not you'll want brakes on the trailer or not. If you're going to be using the Timbren # TASR35HDS07, you'll need hubs that have # 25580 inner bearing and # 15123 outer bearings, like the # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K for a hub and drum assembly or # AKIHUB-655-6-EZ-K for idler hubs. • Recommended Hub Assembly for a Boat Trailer in Freshwater Situations
Hey Bob, really good question my friend. In freshwater situations, a standard hub can last several years before rust becomes a concern but I'd advise marine grade 99% of the time if the trailer will contact water often. Marine grade hubs offer additional corrosion resistance and better protection against moisture. The cost difference is usually small compared to the convenience and peace of mind they provide. What style of boat do you launch in freshwater?
